So pissed the Stars lost. I shouldn't care cus i hate both teams but still.

I wanted to have Penguins Vs. Stars, but to tell you the truth that would not be as good of a sereis as would the Penguins Vs. the Red Wings

I personally do not like the Red Wings even though I live in the western conference, but I would rather see Sidney Crosby win the cup

hello everybody a definate puck head here!! I waited to post to see which redwings team would show up in dallas for game 6 of the C.F's; fortunately it's the team I know should have won the cup last year and were not gonna let their chances of winning the cup this year depend on a crap shoot scenario of having to play a game 7!! now that the wings are officially in I think the finals are going to be pretty good!!

I am a homer and I think detroit will win the cup!! crosby; malkin; & hossa are certainly formittable!! I think detroits experience will be the biggest advantage since both team are so balanced and complete!! I am pretty comfident detroit will win!! I didn't think the wings would beat the flyers in 97and they humiliated philly!! 98 was a toss up I thought the capitols would be more of a challenge than they were!! and I didn't think carolina had a chance in 02!!

I would be shocked if the penguins win the cup!! not impossible but it would be quite difficult for the penguins to play in detroit and win a game!! ozzie is playin the best he's ever played!! even better than he did when he won the cup for us!! lidstrom; rafalski; kromwall; chelios; all the detroit forwards back-checking like they do!!

crosby; malkin; and hossa are not gonna have the freedom; room; and time they did in all their other series!! I was suprised detroit played dallas & won the series!! only cuz the stars beat the ducks & the sharks!! both those teams are pretty scary!! even for detroit!! the west had 4 teams that could have won the cup!! detroit; dallas; san jose; and anahiem!!

I thought the east was gonna be montreal or philly; and maybe the rangers; so I am suprised that the penguins won the east!! well it should be fun to watch!! goodluck pitsburgh!! everybody enjoy the series!! and I know allot of you are rooting against the redwings cuz they are the modern day dynasty!! just like the yankee's; patriot's; spurs!! everybody hate's the best!! be well everybody!! ttyl...

The Detroit VS Pitsburgh final reminds me a lot of when a young Edmonton Oilers team clashed with the New york Islanders for the first time back in the 80's . The master ( islanders ) beat the apprentice ( oilers ) 4-0 but the following year the youngsters came back and knew just what they had to do to win . I think pretty much the same is going to happen this year . I love the pens and I hope they will win the cup but I think this year they will learn a hard lesson just to come back even stronger next year with more experience . So my prediction is Red wings in 5 games .

can't say for certain that they'll "dominate". they didn't play Detroit at all this season and Detroit has been the only team that could match the Pens in wins, intensity, goals scored and goal tending. it's gonna be more even than you think

Well, my Stars are out. That sucks, but they performed much better than I expected them to. The Red Wings are just on another level. The future does look bright for Dallas though. Alot of good young talent. I really think that Detroit is just to strong for the Pens as well. We'll see.

That was kind of the way I am feeling it. If the Kid is the next Gretz, than this will be the begining of a stellar career. 4 titles, maybe? IMO, there will never be another Gretzky, but that is just my :2 cents: Mario was arguably just as good if not better than Gretz because he averaged 2 points a game over his career - only man to ever accomplish that. Plus, he did it with less talent surrounding him.

hello all I didn't enter this thread to gloat or respond to every post that slams the redwings or believe the pens are gonna dominate!! I simply entered the thread cuz I am a PUCKHEAD and I will not debate and defend my every opinoin and or post arguing with someone about this or that!! thats why I have refrained from posting everytime I see pens will dominate!! fine if thats what you would like to believe?? past history suggests otherwise the more experienced team wins!! and detroit bashers just remember most of the core that won the past 3 recent cups are gone; their are a couple of guys remaining from those teams!!

my point being allot of the redwings are pretty damn old!! but have maintaned their roster spot but eventually they will retire and trust me detroit has the YOUNG talent to replace the older guys when they retire!! so detroit is rotating its youth and experience only to be even better in the near future!! personally I didn't think the redwings could recover so quickly and or be as effective as they used to be without yzerman; shannahan; lapointe; fedorov; etc... but to my suprise the team has represented well despite all the player turn around!! pretty impressive I think!! personally I don't care for a finesse team; I really like the way the ducks are built!! big; tough; talented; ready to fight; in your face type hockey!!

but detroit can evidently match and adapt to anybodies game!! and just to put it down and officially announce so that everybody who reads this thread knows this about me I HATE HASEK!! lol I don't like most of the players the redwings have!! I don't like finesse players I grew up watching the bash brothers and the teams that followed them that started to prosper in the middle 90's!! I like a big; gritty; tough; talented; agressive and mean but composed; a team that can punish you with its pychical play and just dismantle a finesse team!! just sharing some insight of my feelings about my team!! I am critical of them because the way they are built but I am a REDWINGS fan so I will always root for them!! take care and be well everybody!!

GO WINGS! This a really the matchup, I was hoping for. I used to live in Pittsburgh, so I already have old friends starting the banter. Crosby is sure the darling of the NHL right now and the team has really devolped in the past year.

The Red Wings might be older, but our 2 best forwards are under 30, Datsyuk and Zetterberg are in their prime and Lindstrom still is the top defenseman in the NHL.

Screw 'em. They pulled this shit back a couple years ago with the Wild VS the Ducks in the Conference finals. But yeah, I would be pissed if I was a D-Town dude. How you gonna watch all that action?!?


Here's my thoughts on the series: I think D-Town in 6, but I want the Pens to win. I just think the Wings are too good. :2 cents: Should be a good series, regardless.
