That all depends on what side of Canada you're on. I'm in the western part so I can deal with Montreal, Ottawa, Winnipeg winning the cup. Vancouver, Calgary and Toronto can never win the cup. An Edmonton bias.

I couldn't agree more. This is the very mindset of nearly every Oilers fan. Montreal is my second favourite team after the Oilers, so I'm rooting for them all the way (quite enthusiastically). I would never root for the Canucks to win anything and the only time I'd ever root for the Flames is if they were facing the aforementioned Canucks, otherwise no way. I can get behind the Maple Leafs, but most fans of basically any other team ritualistically roots against them (and I can understand why).

Well we got what I believe will be our one win in the series. Granny looked great; Nino looked great, as did most of the team. Looking forward to game four.

Yeah the Hawks played like all they had to do to win was show up. I'm tickled shitless that the Wild shut 'em out and I really hope they can take game 4 and even this thing up but, unless they can win one of the games at the Madhouse, they have no shot to win this series. I knew it was over for the Blues when we lost game 5 in OT at home and lost home ice advantage. I know it's a cliche' but they really do need to just take it one game at a time.

The key to beating the Hawks is preventing their explosive breakouts and stretch passes that create odd-man rushes or breakaways. Their defensemen also force everything to the outside so an aggressive forecheck is critical if you want to score goals against them. I don't know how many one-and-out dump-and-chases I saw them force against the Blues. There's a reason that Chicago has won 2 Cups in the recent past....they are an extremely-talented team.

Good luck to the Wild in game 4!

Yes, and I do not think Bryz got terribly challenged in the game, but when he did he was sharp. Man it will be sweet if we win game four and make it a series. I've had a lot of fun watching this young Wild team mature this post season. I think a piece or two will solidify this team as a real contender in the next years.

And as a defenseman myself the last half of my playing days I have to say watching Suter play is truly watching a genius and I'm happy I get to watch for the rest of his career representing my state and team. Dude is just so effortless in his skill set. I really think this team has the core in place now to bring the Cup home in the near future.

Damn rags letting the Pens dump all over them this series. Looking like they're a lock for the ECF - really don't care if it's the Bs or the Canadiens that make it beside them. I suspect we're looking at a Pitt-Boston ECF and then Chicago-LA. Talk about Buttman's wet dream with all the major markets (outside NY) making it.

Moving to a trailer in Fife, AL.
First NHL playoff game and you score the only goal in an OT game. Congrats Matt Fraser.

And a repeat of last year... conspiracy??? Hmm...

Well Chicago looked pretty flat last night...or the Wild looked really un-flat. Soft goals allowed by both Bryzgalov and Crawford but surely a good effort from Minnesota, who are getting better by the game in this series.

I'm also glad the Rags won. Same for Boston.

Wow....what a nightmare game for the Bruins. Rask looks like a tuna flopping around on the deck of a trawler. Pacioretty's goal was a cluster fuck between Chara and Rask. Then, the ensuing Habs' power play stormed the net to the point that Rask was flat on his back when Vanek fired the puck into the empty net. All that after an offensive flurry by the Bruins in the Montreal zone that was about as dominant as anything I have seen in the playoffs so far.

Looks like game 7 back in Boston is a high likelihood. What a great series this is so far.

Now the Pens might actually get a good coach. Watch out. Balysma is terrible.

It sickens me to see Martin St Louis make it to the ecf. Whiniest bitch in the league cries his way out of Tampa and is being heralded as some sort of hero for persevering through his mothers death. Fuck him.

Butt, butt, b-b-butt butt butt...

Golfing season starts now.

Man, I am so fucking sick of Patrick Fucking Kane....not only is he good, he's lucky. I hate the Hawks and I hate Chelsea Dagger. Praying for a Ducks-Hawks conference final....if it's the Kings, I don't give a rat's ass who wins. The Wild made a great run....their future is bright.

Yeah we put up more of a fight than I would have figured. The goalie thing needs to be figured out but I do think we're going to be a better team going forward.

Don't know the story but glad the Rangers won.

Don't know the story but glad the Rangers won.

Yzerman initially left St Louis off Team Canada, who felt he deserved a spot automatically for some reason. After Stamkos couldn't play, St Louis ended up getting the roster spot anyway. Not because he was the most deserving, but because Tampas GM was running Team Canada. Giroux was easily more deserving. But that didn't matter because St Louis felt betrayed and his relationship with Yzerman was beyond repair. So he cried until he got traded to a team of his choice. Wahhh I should be on Team Canada. Wahhh. Oh I'm on Team Canada? Wahhh I want a trade anyway. Wahhh.

Pucker Up Butter Cup.
Huge game 7 tonight. I think the Bruins take care of business.

Glad the Hawks took care of business last night, Kane always seems to step up when it matters most.

The butt hurt is strong with this one...

:D

Yeah, either him or Toews will be the Conn Smythe trophy winner when they hoist the Stanley Cup again.

Yep. It's a Cub-fan kind of hurt so you should easily relate....except it hasn't been over a hundred years for the Blues so not quite the same....yet. ;)

Honestly, the Hawks appear to be able to win almost at will and that truly is the sign of a champion. I admire them and I love Coach Q (the Blues were idiots to fire him but hey they have done a lot of idiotic things in their history so....) :dunno: I just can't stand to hear that fucking song....it drives me wild (no pun intended, Minnesota). :D

That said....they will have their hands full with either the Ducks or Kings. Regardless, I think it's pretty clear that the Western Conference champion would likely be the heavy favorite to hoist Lord Stanley's cup when it's all said and done.

Bruins gave up an early goal to the Habs in game 7. They appear to be tight....maybe they will loosen up but they need a spark of some sort to get them back on their game. Montreal seems to have the advantage after the first period but with the refs letting almost anything go, I'm sure things will start to get really nasty before it's over. Should be a helluva battle.....I'm loving it. Great hockey....two really good teams letting it all on the line. That's the way it should be. There's nothing like the Stanley Cup playoffs!
