I don't know if the Hawks can win again or not. That 3rd period collapse in game 2 seemed to change the team attitude. I think the Kings might roll 'em again back in Chicago. Either way, I can't see the Hawks storming back to win this series.

And to think....the Kings were down to the Sharks in the opening round, 3-0. If they win it, I gotta give 'em a helluva lot of credit for grit and determination. Most teams would have mailed it in and hit the links.

Habs rebounded when they had to and ended up chasing Lundqvist. Subban is an absolute beast....what a force from the point on the power play! The men will be separated from the boys in game 6. The Habs have to win and the Rangers definitely don't want to go back to Montreal so it should be a helluva game. Plus, this thing is starting to get real chippy with some cheap shots and rough stuff so it will be about as intense as you can get.

In the meantime, we'll see how the Hawks respond tonight back home with their backs against the wall. They aren't used to being in this position but I guarantee that Coach Q will have them ready to play. LA can't let up at all or the Hawks will run them over like a steamroller. I know I'll be watching.

Except for last year against Detroit... when they were down 3-1. :D

Hawks have been out played since the third period of game 2. Kings have been the better team, no doubt about it. Chicago is capable of turning it around, but it's really hard to win 3 in a row in this league. I hope they can do it...

If not, I still have the Pacers. Oh, wait..

It's been disgusting here for the past week. All of these Ranger fans touching the cup much too early made me sick. Henrik Lundqvist being fitted for his Hall of Fame ring. Glad they got bitch slapped up there. This bandwagon looks as bad or worse than Yankee fans.

If you can name a specific time that they faced such adversity, it only underscores my point....and the fact that it is basically the ONLY time they have faced such adversity in recent playoff history only serves to underscore it more emphatically. They came back against an over-achieving Wings team last year. This year, it appears that they are simply being dominated by a better team. Something happened before the 3rd period in game 2 to light the Kings up and the Hawks act like they have been hit by a train ever since. I will be watching with great fascination to see how effectively the Hawks can counterpunch and perhaps keep their hopes alive. If LA grabs the lead and plays the kind of defense they have been playing the past few games, I don't see good things happening for Chicago.

And, yes Scott, Gaborik has been a huge difference-maker for LA. Their ability to score had been almost anemic before they acquired him. Now, he has been Mr. Clutch and it looks like a different team. What a great pickup. That's who the Blues should have gone for instead of Ryan Miller.

Wow, it's a real shame that somebody had to lose that hockey game. What a fucking blast to watch. That overtime period was twenty minutes of edge of your seat action.

Hoping they can force game 7 back at the UC with a win in LA. Still a tough road ahead...

That 8-minute stretch in 1st OT w/o a whistle was some of the most unreal action I have seen in some time. That showed why the Stanley Cup Playoffs are the best of any sport - end if discussion. Was hoping the Kings would have won so we would have gotten 2 more days rest and especially for Doughty but we end it Friday

This.

What a game. We'll see if the Hawks can somehow steal a win in LA.

I had to miss that game because of this heady bitch I'm with now. Damn shame. But at least I got laid.

Buttman's ultimate wet.dream of a NYC-LA final is almost brought to fruition. :flaccid:

The Rangers with the consolation win. Kings/Hawks will be the real championship.

Lundqvist came back with a vengeance in gaining the shutout but, all things considered, he was only seriously tested a few times. It was clear from the start that Therrien's shortening of the Canadiens' bench took it's toll over the long haul. They were completely gassed and would have lost 10-0 if it hadn't have been for Tokarski. The kid was brilliant in a losing effort. Congrats to the Rangers and now they get a few days of rest. As Tony elucidated in his prior post, they'll need all the strength they can muster for what is headed their way.

I would expect the Kings to rise to the moment tonight at home but won't be shocked if the Hawks somehow can find a way to win. It all depends how much hangover or carryover depending on who you are that the double OT game did on Wednesday night. Either way, I expect both teams to lay it all out tonight....should be a helluva battle. Even if you're not a hockey fan, this is must-see TV!!

Agree and Kings end it tonite. They need to do so and avoid a trip back to Chicago - even if they win it. They need the rest, especially for Doughty. And being able to stay home and then see the Rangers have to fly out to CA for Games 1/2 is huge because it means Kings won't have to get on a plane until June 8. Kings need to do what the Hawks did in G5 - feed off the insane atmosphere it will be tonite at Staples. Kings getting the last line change will prevent scrubs from having career nights. Kings win the game and series 4-2 and then mop up on the JV Champ Rangers in the Finals

That was some of the best hockey I've ever seen. Kane is a fucking stud. Can you say Game 7? Whoo

WOW!!! What a game!! Hawks come up big and, I hate the fucker cuz he's a Blues-killer but, Patrick Fucking Kane is unreal!!! Crawford underrated....is great when he has to be. Gotta figure the Hawks close this out on Sunday but, hey, the Kings ain't dead yet. Great fucking hockey....it's why I love the game.

That was a great game and an amazing third period. Tough loss for the Kings and Quick will have to be great for the Kings to win at the UC. I believe Sports Illustrated just did a piece following the Hawks-Bruins finals and league realignment saying the percentages for another 'original six' Stanley Cup finals was like below 5% or something like that, and we might just get another this year with the Hawks and Rags.

I do think Quick will be good though and the game will come down to a lucky break or two.

Toews and Kane will be the difference in game 7 at the UC. No way the Hawks are losing on home ice with a chance at the finals on the line. They've made it all the way back from down 3-1. Remember what happened the last time they were in this same situation last year? Short version, it ended like this:

They scored TWO winning goals as well.

The key to changing this series is all the result of Coach Q shaking up the lines. Toews' line totally shut down Kopitar's crew and the Saad-Kane-Shaw line has produced great scoring results. Back in the 1970s, the Blues fired Al Arbour and all he did was go to the Islanders and win 4 Stanley Cups. They fired Coach Q back in '04 and now he is on the verge of winning his 3rd Cup with the Hawks.

Ugh....the Blues....what an aptly-named franchise.
