Japanese and American Reaction to Disaster

this has gone from bad to worse to FUBAR, and it seems like the jet stream will be carrying radioactive isotopes to the US west coast, Hawaii and Alaska and possibly Australia to name a few locations so here are few links of information that could help protect you, your friends and families from Radio Active fallout, I am not a doctor and I do not give medical advice but I do believe in spreading info that could possibly save lives

The fallout will be minuscule by the time it reaches the US. The public is already hoarding iodine pills over here. Just dumb.

Do we trust the government or do we trust those who might ship us a counterfeit product in the form of compressed gypsum or worse?

There is just no *winning* here I'm 'ffraid, just take it in stride I guess. :dunno:

um I'll take my chances with the links I posted bro because the people trusted their government during chernobyl and you saw what a disaster that turned out to be and this meltdown has already dwarfed chernobyl by the way

and you are right facetious there is a lot of loss but survival is an instinct that is hardwired into humans and I give much respect to the Japanese and the way they are handling this nuclear fallout

^ Fair points . . . however, pot. iodide only offers protection to the thyroid gland. . . what do we take to protect the rest of the body?

Aside - Trident, I'm awfully sorry that the detractors mugged your
''Tribute to the Japanese under dire circumstances'' thread. .
. . Ya gotta take the good with the bad in the ''free world'' I guess.

:D

there is nothing on this planet that a human can ingest that will protect him or her against uranium and or plutonium along with a bunch of other hardcore radio active isotopes, breathing in just a particle of uranium or plutonium is guaranteed death, now potassium iodide does offer protection for the thyroid against radioactive iodide isotopes, when exposure is imminent, you ingest the pot iodide supplement to fill your thyroid with the good iodide that way your body wont suck up the radio active iodide and you can prevent exposure by 100 percent, I don't give out medical advice so consult your doctor

It's a wonder how these great tenacious Japanese survivors can go on as they are . . X10!
It's really phenomenal just how orderly things are over there under such dire conditions!

Whew! Just WHEW!

:hatsoff: again for posting such revealing pics, Uly!
It feels as if I could reach out and touch the bow of that ship, you? :surprise:

how do you know the level of fallout will be miniscule and not have any health affects on people trident? I am curious

I don't for sure but the amount you'd get from an Xray or CT scan would be about the same. The fallout isn't as concentrated as that from Chernobyl.

Btw, I'm only referring to the levels over the West Coast.

You are correct, and DHS is moving more detection equipment to the West coast to make sure the levels are measured properly.

Radioactive iodine only has a half life of a week or so, FYI... some of the other possible radioisotopes last much longer. Right now, nothing to be worried about for the US. People taking those potassium iodine tablets are hurting themselves far worse than any radiation will.

Those housewives would be a frightful sight without hair dye, botox, and make-up.
