I kept flipping between ESPN and NFL network wondering "where in the fuck is the game? " But it took a trip to tumblr to discover the ground crew fuck ed up the turf paint job so badly that the field became unplayable. This is not the most auspicious way to begin the pre-season. But it is kinda funny, if you look at it dispassionately.

Know what I think would be funny? A Redskins/Patriots Super Bowl.

He sort of reminds me of another Brett Favre...except while slightly more disciplined he doesn't quite have the athletic talent and arm to get himself out of trouble as much as he can get into it as much as prime Favre, and without the durability. Now one sure can do a lot worse than Favre did for his career, but it also don't take much to go from that to disaster. That goes even more so since I don't have faith that the Indy front office and coaching staff can put a top to bottom good team around him, and that was even before he took as much of a cap his as he's going to.

Cannot really judge his performance yet his teams have been lousy o-line is horrendous, not even a second rate back, defense???
So he has to chuck the ball up 50 times while running for his life.

He's been in the league a while now. At what point can one start judging his performance? It's not like he's a rookie anymore. True, one must always take into account the circumstances a person performs in when they judge that performance, but even so I see a lot of flaws in his game that are his own doing. He also had his chance to get out and plan to go somewhere else in the near future, but not now.

His situation also sounds like what Peyton had for the majority of his career there.

When he has an O-line that allows the offence to operate correctly.

BCT

Pucker Up Butter Cup.
The SB Champion will come out of the NFC this year. The NFL will not allow the AFC to win it 3 years in a row.

Patriots, Raiders, Bengals, Jaguars. Jets and Titans (wildcards)

Redskins, Seahawks, Vikings, Panthers. Giants and Cardinals (wildcards)

Panthers / Raiders

Panthers take it (Cam gets on my nerves, but I gotta admit that's a well built team, not sold on their receivers).

Panthers get Benjamin back. Funchess and Benjamin could be a formidable receiving tandem if they stay healthy.

Olsen's a pretty decent complement to the receivers, but I'm not sold on Benjamin, and wasn't before the injury. He's huge, and that's always going to fit well inside the 20, but I thought he was overrated coming out. Funchess sounds to be lighting it up in camp (great fantasy value, I think) - I think they'll be serviceable in the receiving game - they just have to stay out of shootouts with the GBs and AZs of the NFC.

Unless my memory is getting hazy that last Arizona game wasn't much of a shootout.

True. And it only took the Falcons 20 points to slap that grin of Cam's dumb mug in December. You've persuaded me - the Panthers are due for a Super Bowl Loser hangover - anemic offense captained by overinflated head, defense can't save you - I'm going to stomp out and find somewhere to cry now.

36 year old Tony Romo out 6-10 weeks with broken bone in back and Dak Prescott has been impressive in the preseason. Father Time likely claims another job.

Panthers looked terrible against New England the other night.

It is amazing how good the Patriots become when Brady is taking snaps.

I think the Panthers will have a bit of a let down year. 9-7

As the season hasn't even begun yet, I'm applying for a mulligan on my NFC North champ - Vikings out (sorry Teddy - that sucks, I really thought that team would take a step forward this year, and I actually thought that if they overcame a big injury, it would be with McKinnon filling in for an injured Peterson...but I digress), Packers in. Rodgers cruises to another NFC North title.
