I had his football card when I was a tike. I knew he was in The Longest Yard but further research revealed he was also in the Monkees rock movie Head where he kept tackling Peter Tork. That was the obvious choice, choosing Tork as the tackling dummy. Tork spent more time in Laurel Canyon smoking grass and dropping acid than Nitschke spent on the football field.

Jacoby Jones has died.

Everyone will remember his two iconic plays from Baltimore's 2012 Super Bowl run - the game tying touchdown against Denver in the Divisional with less than a minute remaining and a 108 yard kickoff return for a touchdown which remains longest play in Super Bowl and postseason history.

I can't post videos because the NFL is shitty about that kind of thing. They are on YouTube if you are so inclined.

The Carolina Panthers have the most miserable fans in the NFL, according to a new survey that examined fan happiness of every professional sports team in North America.

On a scale of 1-5 with a 1 being never and 5 always, Panthers fans feel letdown frequently with an average score of 4. Over half of Carolina football fans don't trust the team's management. The Panthers last made the playoffs in the 2017 season. That six-year drought is the third-longest in the NFL, behind only the New York Jets (13 years) and Denver Broncos (eight years).

Yeah. Nothing really to add. It's been difficult.

Great player. But he had to sit out SB 1 with a nerve pinch. Elijah Pitts carried the load on the ground that game. It was the first SB but it didn't even sell out. Pro football even then was not yet the juggernaut it would eventually become.
