And for avoiding any kind of fraud and any kind of whining when losing , Sen. Rick Scott introduces legislation prohibiting mail-in ballots from being counted more than 24 hours after election day

Also feds said that election staff opened then threw away military ballots
https://bluelivesmatter.blue/feds-s...gtiSALaSRMCYH62b1d4f0HKNKBEU_vrTB-SFI0FR09Vmg
Threwing away military ballots? Because sleepy Joe isn't popular with the military and law enforcement so apparently democrat election staff opened and threw away ballots that were not supporting sleepy Joe, how fair and how convenient. And the radical Democrats want to wine after that if they lose that election, you gotta love the hypocrisy.

One important point is that Mark Meadows attacked FBI Director Christopher Wray Over mail-in ballot debate

I already knew that mail in ballots was subject to fraud but now it seems more than ever than mail in ballot are not a reliable nor even a trustworthy way of voting.

Way worse than one could imagine but being so predictable and coming from the radical Democrats is that the Dem Secretary of State sent mailer to non-citizens and the deceased encouraging them to register to vote
https://www.westernjournal.com/dem-...f_campaign=dailypm&ff_content=western-journal
This is not only fraud but perhaps the biggest sign of dishonesty and untrustworthyness coming from Democrats but again for me it was predictable and expectable.

Just for the super simple minded among us, this won't prevent any kind of fraud. All postal votes have to be postmarked no later than election day in order to be counted, so all this rule does is stop legitimate votes from being counted. But don't worry, there will still be plenty of fraud and whining from trump.

Another fun one is the new Texas rule forcing only 1 ballot drop-off location per county, just to confuse and discourage voters.

This is republicans killing democracy in broad daylight.

Well, the game has certainly changed as of today.

There's still another month for an October Surprise.
When I noted the possibility of an October Surprise, I didn't expect it to arrive so early in the month.

Peggy Noonan from the WSJ:
Coronavirus Delivers an October Surprise
After a disastrous debate and a shocking twist, the vice-presidential debate takes on huge importance.
Well, the game has certainly changed as of today.
After he single-handedly brought back Big 10 football, I thought the election was wrapped up for him.

I am in America, not of it.
Despite my theory in another post I can't help but wonder if The Donald is just going for the Suburban Mom Sympathy vote. You know the one. Poor sick little guy. Let's re-elect him to make him feel better.

Fox News paid $4M to a woman who accused Kimberly Guilfoyle of sexual harassment. Kim is Don Jr's girlfriend, one of Trump's top fund-raising officials, and ex-wife of CA governor Gavin Newsom.

https://nymag.com/intelligencer/202...-hush-money-to-harassment-accuser-report.html

This article makes one wonder:
  • [The assistant] was shown photographs of the genitalia of men with whom Guilfoyle had had sexual relations.
    • Does she have Don Jr's dick pic?
  • [The assistant was told] to submit to a Fox employee’s demands for sexual favors, encouraged [the assistant] to sleep with wealthy and powerful men,
    • I guess we know how Kim became a 'top fund-raising' official.

YES, he had it coming

NO, I do not wish him to die from Covid19

But right now I think the most important story is the Senate : Amy Barrett's confirmation is scheduled for October 22nd. 3 GGOP senaors have recently been tested positive and are now quarantined at home, that means the confirmation might be in jeopardy if 1 or 2 of them wouldn't be back by October 22nd.
For the vote to be valid it needs at least 50 senators to participate, if 4 or more GOP Senators wouldn't participate to the vote, it would only take Democrats to boycott the confirmation vote to nullify the vote.
Right now, the confirmation is still very likely to happen but it wouldn't take much to change that and time is not working for the GOP here. That's probably why the Senate just announced they would go on recess until October 19th : because Moscow Mith is scared that the disease might spread from one GOP senator to the other...

I think the presidents flu will be over soon and uneventfully hes treated with the very best medicine and he wasn't aleing at the time but more importantly it serves to normalize a flu that Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson had among many many 100s of 1000s of other Americans the media is so headlong into overblowing every Washington flu response to flu like Trump was ordering American citys bombed child please. It's a bad flu that the Chinese spilled. When do you think you will take them to task for the millions of dead world wide and broken economys yeah but Trump. 😄 Okay guy. The president will be well and happy to accept his victory and show Americans healthy recovery inside and out. And Joe can go back to sleep.

On another tact. Has anyone else been getting fundraisers e-mails from The Donald and family? I have been getting 6-10+ per day. I can only assume they are mining other sites for possible donors. They must be desperate if they think an old retired white guy has any money for them.

Looking back, I'm thinking the getting COVID was actually a good thing for twump.

1) If he passes, his followers will see him as a martyr and be that much more likely to vote. There might even be a sympathy vote for Pence depending on how they present it.
2) If he recovers, his followers will see him as superhuman, boosting his cult-status
3) Depending on how close to election he's back, there might not be a 2nd debate. With no clear winner in the 1st debate, it eliminates the risk of botching the 2nd one
4) He can tout whatever he did to recover as proof that the US has the "cure"
5) Dems can't be as aggressive if he's hospitalized or recovering
Etc...

It just seems like this was a gift more than anything. Is there really a conclusive downside for him?

Not really, but there isn't an upside either. I would suggest a significant portion of the vote is decided already. Those who dislike him, will still dislike him. Those who like him, will still like him.

The pronouncements coming from the White House are pure Trump: conflicting statements from his doctor and Chief of Staff and downplaying the seriousness of it.

I wouldn't call it a gift. He needed to get out there and recover from his debate performance. I disagree with your third point. Biden had a slight edge in the debate.

There really aren't enough turd emojis on the whole internet for this post. It's just.... surreal.

He cannot die. If he dies it will be a disaster. It's not just trump that needs to lose next month, it's trumpism.

If he's ok and gets destroyed at the election, then his cult get to see trump and trumpism rejected. They'll have irrefutable proof that they aren't the silent majority they think they are.

But if he dies, having never been defeated and rejected by America, trumpism is here to stay. It'll be a far more difficult cancer to cut out.

Seems like he's getting better and is very likely to get through this OK. Good for him. Now, azll we can hope is that, now that Covid has affected him personnaly he will realise how serious this pandemic and he will take serious action to fight the disease, slow down the spread, etc. Maybe he'll wear a mask in public, maybe he'll make mask mandatory during his rallies, maybe he'll tell his fans to wears mask and do social distancing as much as possible, etc.
Or maybe this is just me being too optimistic and naive...
