Whoo-boy!! West Coast vs. midwest. BTW...Leyland assures you the Cats will not be lax. They've been taking on the Instructional League in a series of Twister matches.

Lohse getting peppered in the first like a good ex-Twin.

I remember him being terrible as a Red, too. In fact, the Reds' board I go to went ballistic when they traded away star prospect Zach Ward for him (Ward never did make it to the majors).

Meanwhile, the Giants have no give up in them. They are one of the more unassuming contenders I have seen in a while. While on paper, I like the Tigers more, this Giant team does not know how to quit.

Hello Sexy girl how your Toes doing?
I am kind of sensing that Detroit will be the underdog again despite what there starting pitching has done since the start of the playoffs, first we were underdogs against the rally boys from Oaktown who don't quit, they've been so great all year, oh yeah, I think they'll beat Detroit, so that didn't happen, then we get the Yanks for beating the A's, and honestly who really gave Detroit a chance of beating the Yanks again, for the 2nd year in row? :uohs: I mean I am a straight up homer and I was worried about having to face the Yanks, especially after the RAIN debacle last year, I knew we could beat the Yanks, but, in the playoffs weird shit happens, I was very apprehensive about playing the yanks again this year. But, not only did we beat them, we swept them, and the Yanks never even had the lead in the entire four games, now I am worried about playing the giants, cuz I remember all to well what happened in 06.

But, we have this year & last years MVP's playing for us, so I am thinking if our starters pitch the way they have been since the start of the playoffs, I think Detroit has a very legitimate chance of winning the World Series this year, "BLESS YOU BOY'S". and I am not gonna be picking any games, all I know is VERLANDER is pitching game 1, so I am not to worried about losing that game, Fister's on the bump in game 2, Sanchez is on the bump for game 3, and Scherzer is on the bump for game 4. and having peeped out the giants for 7 games now, I think our starters can get the job done in each game.. that said, I SURE hope there is a huge fuckin party here in Detroit in the next week or week & 1/2 or so. :nanner: Were the underdogs again, but if we win game 1 in SF and comeback even I think were gonna be good.. :2 cents::sheep: if SF wins and we lose the WS again that would suck bigtime!! :horse:

the Tigers have real good players but the Giants have stupid momentum right now. the good news is the Tigers shouldn't be intimated by one of the worse hitting parks in the states

So, I got the ALCS wrong, but I picked the Giants to win the NLCS and the World Series after beating the Reds, so I'm gonna stick to that. However, I do think that this has the potential to be a great series, and I actually disagree with Marlo when he says that the Tigers should be going in as the underdog because I actually think that they should be going in as the favourites. Their pitching staff is well-rested and they will have Verlander going in Game 1 and potentially three times in the series (should it go deep enough), not to mention how fantastic their entire rotation has been with Scherzer, Fister, and Anibal Sanchez (and meanwhile the Giants will not have their preferred picks for pitching matchups at the beginning of the series due to going the distance in the NLCS). In the postseason thus far, the Tigers have been superior to the Giants in every way (even baserunning, which is a shock). Listen to these pitching stats: 7-2, 1.74 ERA, .176 opponents batting average, 0.94 WHIP, and 86 Ks through 82.2 IP. That's as a TEAM! That's almost unfathomably good. It's really difficult to pick against the Tigers at this point. I'm going to stick with the Giants, however, and only because I believe that they will never quit and will die before they let the Tigers win (and maybe they have a slightly better and more poised bullpen than the Tigers, although it's hard to predict that becoming a major factor with the Tigers' starters pitching so deep and effectively as they have).

World Series MVP: Buster Posey (I think he'll snap out of it and come up clutch).

Sweeping the Yankees could hurt the Tigers in the end.
As I have said earlier in this thread, and as Kevin Millar said this evening on MLB Network's Intentional Talk, baseball players hate days off this time of the year. Momentum is very big in the post season. The Tigers had a lot of it...it could continue in the World Series. It has happened (see the Chicago Whitesox in 2005). But the days off could hurt. Yeah, they has practice games, but they are not the same thing. The Giants not only played games, they played some pressure cooker type games.
That said, I am pulling for Detroit. Been a long time since that city has seen a baseball team with a trophy.

Sorry Rod I think I pleaded my case too well.. no matter what the Tigers do, the other team seems to get some kind of advantage in the eye's of the popular opinion such as this forum as an example / say. I am only saying the Tigers are made the underdogs whomever they play, of course I am worried the Tigers may come out slow or rusty, but I am depending on our starters to dictate each game, that said, relievers and closers will be less of an issue if the Starters pitch deep into the games, that and our guys have been @ the park everyday, not playing a professional full speed team of MLB caliber but they were playing against high caliber minor league team just too keep there timing and not resting to much.. I of course would love to say the Tigers are gonna roll the Giants just like they did the Yanks, and gawd only knows I  HOPE they do. but I can't predict that or say its gonna happen for a fact, I think SF is worn down, and they'll be facing 4 horses that handled a Yanks team that pretty much trumps the giants lineup almost every day sort of speak, I'm just a saying, the Yanks on paper are way scarier than the giants lineup, so I'm crossing my fingers and hoping there's no tense moments for the Tigers or us Tigers fans. I just want 4 solid easy wins so we can PARTAY in the D!!!

I pretty much ran what I was gonna say into what I mentioned in the reply too Rod, but I think the combination of days off too regroup, set the rotation, get Papa grande on track, and playing scrimmages with the prospect minors or whatever team they played was just enough to keep the Tigers in tip top shape and ready to ROCK & ROLL when the games start!! I think the Tigers are realizing the potential and the dominance they could have played with all summer is just now rearing its ugly and dangerous head. :evillaugh: minus the issues in the bullpen everything is jelling & :flame: SMOKIN @ the right time.. I think the Tigers will be the World Champions once its all said and done.. Too much VERLANDER, FISTER, SANCHEZ, & SCHERZER, not to mention the TRIPLE CROWN MVP CABRERA AND FIELDER.. TIGERS FTW.. :nanner:

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh shit. Who picked Tigers/Giants? This guy!!

The Tigers are underdogs because they had the worst record out of all the playoff teams.

Giants in 7. However, if I had to put money on it, I couldn't bet against Detroit. Their starting rotation is out of this world. They're basically guaranteed 2 wins from Verlander, 3 if they decide to play him again. The guy doesn't lose.

I want Phil Coke to give up a 9th inning lead in game 7 so Posey can mock his gay ass flex celebration as he sulks back to the dugout while the Giants celebrate.

Hahaha... you must be talkin bout me. lol.. the Tigers may have had the worst record of all the playoff teams, but since the playoffs started which team has been the most impressive and the most different looking team from there regular season showing Vs. there Playoff performance thus far.. and I don't know if you did it on purpose but you make a contradiction of picks all in one post. lol, giants in 7, but if you had to put money on it how you couldn't bet against Detroit, don't fret my friend, I'm just rassing ya' a bit, but is all in fun, besides I think some of the things you post are just to get a rise out of me. :D I don't if its on purpose, if you even know your doing it, or if your doing quite intentionally. :rofl2: either way, its all good.

Oh yeah, and that mention about Phil Cokes reaction after winning game 4 was a personal grudge he had against NY.. and his resurgence from an up and down season performance wise. I don't really know the whole story behind what happened or what the complete story is, but Coke has / had ill feelings towards NY for being dealt to Detroit, not that he doesn't like Detroit, I think there was some hinky shit the Yanks did to him. So the glove slam was just a exuberant celebration of emotion cuz in a way he got back @ NY in a way, so to speak.. :dunno: maybe somebody knows the whole story. anyway, Tigers can't let SF beat them after they just steam rolled the Yanks.. and I don't think its gonna happen, so I think Detroit's gonna be Rockin in about a week or so. :nanner: if NOT I will give the giants all the praise they deserve, but I just don't see the Tigers letting them do that to them. :2 cents:

I'm sticking with my Giants pick from before the playoffs started. I can't go back on it!! And I'm not going to lose anything if I'm wrong. Money bets and heart bets are always different ;)

And I didn't know that about Coke. I'm glad you knew what I was talking about though. I tried youtubing it but couldn't find anything.

I'm trying to get tickets to game 5. I'll probably head down to Comerica and find some scalpers. Keep your fingers crossed, ya'll!!

Props to the Giants. They played good ball when they needed to, and the Cardinals couldn't close the deal. Should be a fun World Series to watch.

Hello Sexy girl how your Toes doing?
Alright I concede game 1, the weird shit has started already!! The Tigers are jinxed everytime there in the World Series.. I have faith in my teams but fuck, seems like 06 again, I guess we'll see what happens the rest of the game, but it looks like giants will win game 1! lol.. unbelievable! :cussing:

I hope game 2 isn't this way also. I HATE when my team is losing I get so fuckin  I get so involved when I'm watching my teams that have to change the channel if my team is fuckin up so bad so I don't have a fuckin stroke or something!! :horse::D

So whats good to watch on a Wednesday nights? the first 48 hours is always appealing, AHS is on in about 20 minutes I think I'm gonna watch that so I don't fuckin die tonight. :brick:
