Oh how I do enjoy watching the Cardinals get their ass handed to them.

Lohse getting peppered in the first like a good ex-Twin.
So, I got the ALCS wrong, but I picked the Giants to win the NLCS and the World Series after beating the Reds, so I'm gonna stick to that. However, I do think that this has the potential to be a great series, and I actually disagree with Marlo when he says that the Tigers should be going in as the underdog because I actually think that they should be going in as the favourites. Their pitching staff is well-rested and they will have Verlander going in Game 1 and potentially three times in the series (should it go deep enough), not to mention how fantastic their entire rotation has been with Scherzer, Fister, and Anibal Sanchez (and meanwhile the Giants will not have their preferred picks for pitching matchups at the beginning of the series due to going the distance in the NLCS). In the postseason thus far, the Tigers have been superior to the Giants in every way (even baserunning, which is a shock). Listen to these pitching stats: 7-2, 1.74 ERA, .176 opponents batting average, 0.94 WHIP, and 86 Ks through 82.2 IP. That's as a TEAM! That's almost unfathomably good. It's really difficult to pick against the Tigers at this point. I'm going to stick with the Giants, however, and only because I believe that they will never quit and will die before they let the Tigers win (and maybe they have a slightly better and more poised bullpen than the Tigers, although it's hard to predict that becoming a major factor with the Tigers' starters pitching so deep and effectively as they have).
World Series MVP: Buster Posey (I think he'll snap out of it and come up clutch).
Sweeping the Yankees could hurt the Tigers in the end.
As I have said earlier in this thread, and as Kevin Millar said this evening on MLB Network's Intentional Talk, baseball players hate days off this time of the year. Momentum is very big in the post season. The Tigers had a lot of it...it could continue in the World Series. It has happened (see the Chicago Whitesox in 2005). But the days off could hurt. Yeah, they has practice games, but they are not the same thing. The Giants not only played games, they played some pressure cooker type games.
That said, I am pulling for Detroit. Been a long time since that city has seen a baseball team with a trophy.
Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh shit. Who picked Tigers/Giants? This guy!!
The Tigers are underdogs because they had the worst record out of all the playoff teams.
Giants in 7. However, if I had to put money on it, I couldn't bet against Detroit. Their starting rotation is out of this world. They're basically guaranteed 2 wins from Verlander, 3 if they decide to play him again. The guy doesn't lose.
I want Phil Coke to give up a 9th inning lead in game 7 so Posey can mock his gay ass flex celebration as he sulks back to the dugout while the Giants celebrate.
Hahaha... you must be talkin bout me. lol.. the Tigers may have had the worst record of all the playoff teams, but since the playoffs started which team has been the most impressive and the most different looking team from there regular season showing Vs. there Playoff performance thus far.. and I don't know if you did it on purpose but you make a contradiction of picks all in one post. lol, giants in 7, but if you had to put money on it how you couldn't bet against Detroit, don't fret my friend, I'm just rassing ya' a bit, but is all in fun, besides I think some of the things you post are just to get a rise out of me. I don't if its on purpose, if you even know your doing it, or if your doing quite intentionally. :rofl2: either way, its all good.
Oh yeah, and that mention about Phil Cokes reaction after winning game 4 was a personal grudge he had against NY.. and his resurgence from an up and down season performance wise. I don't really know the whole story behind what happened or what the complete story is, but Coke has / had ill feelings towards NY for being dealt to Detroit, not that he doesn't like Detroit, I think there was some hinky shit the Yanks did to him. So the glove slam was just a exuberant celebration of emotion cuz in a way he got back @ NY in a way, so to speak.. :dunno: maybe somebody knows the whole story. anyway, Tigers can't let SF beat them after they just steam rolled the Yanks.. and I don't think its gonna happen, so I think Detroit's gonna be Rockin in about a week or so. :nanner: if NOT I will give the giants all the praise they deserve, but I just don't see the Tigers letting them do that to them. :2 cents:
