I am the same way with Jeter - I am not a Yankee fan by any means, but do have respect for Jeter. Apparently, the Reds were very close to drafting him, and he may have had some interest, but Cincinnati already had some guy named Larkin playing shortstop at the time.
But seeing him go out that way was painful.

Hello Sexy girl how your Toes doing?
You know I am really getting tired of all the announcers, play by play guys sucking the Yankee's dicks!! Yeah Infante was out @ 2nd, it was a bad call, & yeah Canoe might have got hosed on the that call yesterday when he was called out @ 1st that would've scored a NY run, but, for all the times the Yankee's have gotten favorable calls and things have worked out in there favor, and believe me, you.. they've gotten a shit load of favorable calls over the years, every little play that goes against the Yankee's these announcers / play by play analysts are scrutinizing them every single time, and I mean BIGTIME!! granted infante was out.. it was a bad call, the UMP was wrong, but in the grand scheme of things did that BAD call cost the Yankee's game 2??? NO, they were shutout, it wasn't a one run loss or the # of runs scored after that blown call. the Yanks failed to score so that bad call was a moot point in the grand scheme of the game.. Yeah the Yanks have had a tough series, but part of the problem is there NOT hitting / producing (only Ibanez & Ichiro have been hitting in the 9th innings) but besides that, the Yanks have been controlled.. So no I don't feel sorry for the Yanks in the least bit.. Now they have to face VERLANDER in game 3 in Detroit Tuesday night, if they happen to lose that game, there's a good chance the Yanks are gonna get SWEPT!! I still fear the NL team that the Tigers would play if they do indeed advance to the WS.. I don't know if I could handle another lose in the World Series.. especially to the St. Louis Cardinals again. :D well sorry for the rant, but I just hate how the Yanks always get there Asses kissed and there dicks sucked. :hairpull:

With all the problems the Yankees are having...

1. Jeter being injured and out for the season.
2. Four major guys not hitting in their lineup: Rodriguez, Cano, Granderson, and Swisher.
3. Three games now scheduled in Detroit.

... do you think they are done?

It's not going back to New York.

I was waiting to answer this until after game 3 was played, so I could possibly give the Yanks the benifit of doubt they'd win a game or two, but, I was banking on Verlander winning, & he said (Verlander) that he didn't even have a great game, he admitted in his own words, but when your final #'s for a pitchers performance in a game read like this: (3 hits, 1 ER, 3 Ks, & 0 BB's) I'd say thats a great days work / performance for any pitcher, & Verlander says he didn't pitch well. :D :eek: that said, I was waiting to see if the Yanks somehow could win game 3 & get a sliver of a chance to get back to NY to play a game 6.

But if the shoe were on the other foot, sort of speak, and Detroit was in the same hole the Yanks are, I don't think I would be very confident of them surviving to win the series.

CC is pitching game 4, but the way the Detroit starters are pitching I don't know if even CC is gonna win.. I mean if Scherzer can follow suit and pitch deep into game 4 perhaps pitch a complete game the tigers might just punch there ticket to the World Series tomorrow night.

Fuckin' rain. I expect the Yankers to at least win today. After that it's up in the air entirely but most likely Detroit's to lose.

Yankers in collective disarray no way they win more than two in a row.

Another problem with NY is that, quite simply, they are old.
Ichiru, A-Rod, Jeter, CC, Petit, Rivera (not this year, but still), Raul, Chavez, Tex, Swisher - this would have been an unbeatable team 10 years ago, maybe five years ago. Now, they are a bunch of guys statistically past their prime. One of the key problems with guys statistically past their prime is two fold.
One, they get hurt. A lot. Old guys get hurt faster, and they heal slower.
Two, their talents do erode. None of those guys is the guy they were five years ago or 10 years ago. Their eyes are not quite as sharp, their arms not quite as strong, their legs unable to carry them quite as fast.
At one time, that would have been one hell of a lineup. Now, a bunch of has-beens. This is a problem the Yankees seem to run into quite a bit since King George and now his son have taken over - they seem to be more interested in collecting names, rather than talent. It works sometimes, but other times, they spend a lot of money for disappointment.

Stick a fork in 'em. They're done.

I guess Yank-mes are going to pay off A-Rod contract now. So, A-Rod will be sitting on his ass collecting $100M for the next several years if he so chooses, according to Mike and Mike earlier today.

Fucking Steinbrenner just tossing bags of money around. I guess this team, including Girardi, will be dismantled.

Bless you boys...... The Yankees go down!

For a Chicago fan, it couldn't get worse than seeing the World Series be between Detroit and St. Louis. Hopefully San Francisco takes StL out of it tonight. Go Giants!

Cards are in big trouble, the Giants are rallying again and its not looking good. I have so much respect for the Giants, they never quit just like the Cards. I'm holding out hope that they can pull it off but if not I'll definately root for SF in the WS.

Pop-up to Scutaro. And it is still seven zip for the Giants to the bottom of the sixth inning in game seven of the NLCS this 2012 season. It looks like it's going to be San Fransisco vs. Detroit unless the Cardinals have one more miracle up their sleeves. I'm still upset with them over what they did in Washington to be honest. :(
