those pundits are crazy bloodshot scott you can't rate a class for 3-5 years usually
yeah paying rodgers all that money could be bad but they set it up to be as cap friendly as possible

It will be a manageable deal assuming Rodgers stays at approximately the same level of performance he's at now for the next seven years. It's possible, but far from certain. If he does it will be at a reasonable value. The problem comes if he drops off well before the end of his contract.

We're one of only three (Bengals and Ravens) to get a rating as high as A minus by NFL.com.

:dunno:

I think our 9-7 record from last year improves, especially with Cassel on board now to push Ponder, and the MVP, AP most likely killing it again this coming season. Just watch out for us in the NFC North.

well if your defense holds up a bit better your record could easily improve, but it's harder to win when folks expect you to

Chances are Peterson won't have as good of year as last year. They pretty much need to have him carry the team again. The Vikings still need a good quarterback.

He had the greatest rushing season in the history of the game, or at least coming off reconstruction (Dickerson had a few more yards). Of course he will likely never repeat it or even maybe come close. He will still be top 5 rushing in the league though.

You ever seen Matt Cassel play QB?

Of course. He's hit or miss so I didn't say he was elite quality, but it's better than that Joe Webb bullshit we threw up in the post season last year. I don't think there had ever been a worse starter/start in the history of the NFL post season. In other words we improved tenfold at backup by adding him and he at least has some game.

and if nothing else Cassel will force Ponder to step-up or be replaced. yeah starting Joe webb in the play-offs was a disaster. All teams need to have a back up qb who's decent enough to win one or 2 games when needed

yeup it is time for ponder and since this is year 3 he should be ready.
this draft is one of the hardest to grade since there are no obvious guys like luck or RG 3 but the depth of quality players was so good. that's why a team like the Cowboys is getting blasted for taking a center in round one when the safety they needed was still there to draft. i'm glad the Jones and company want to be 8-8 every year it means that the Eagle,Giants and Redskins get to fight for the division and play-offs

It appears Urlacher is going to retire.

I wonder if the Bears are now going to get a public apology from him considering it would now seem that he really wasn't being short changed in his dealing with them. I'm sure if he was offered a much better deal, especially with a contender, he would have taken it.

Still for the most part I have nothing personally against him, and I think him for being such a decent player for so long with the Bears.

Moving to a trailer in Fife, AL.
Norv Turner is as over-rated as an O-coordinator gets. He "made his name" when he had Troy Aikman, Emmitt Smith, and one of the greatest offensive lines ever. By Week 6, you will be wondering why the offense is so stagnant and unimaginative.

Possible trouble for Aaron Hernandez. The Pats better start grooming Tebow at TE.

The problem with that is that I don't think Tebow has ever done anything at another position at any significant level in football. I mean sure, if it gets bad enough and they lose that much depth they might as well take a flyer on him and see what he can do, but I wouldn't be counting on that working out. It would be better to get a conventional TE than relying on that. It's not like there is a switch one can press to instantly learn years of experience at a position, and banking on Tebow just being so naturally gifted at a receiving position he instantly falls into it has a great likelihood of not working out, especially when it will be a continuous thing and not just a change of pace type of situation. The only saving thing would be Brady being one of those rare people that is good enough that the people he throws to look better than they are, and having it mitigate some shortcomings.

I wonder what Brady would have thought at the end of last year if you told him that there would be a non-unreasonable chance his three best pro bowl level receiving targets wouldn't be with him this year or at least a big part of the year. It will be interesting to see what becomes of one of the best offensive eras ever, and if he's also like Manning in that he really can make mediocre receivers look great. It could end up being a interesting test indeed.

so yeah, I'm going to call it now... Tom Brady gets a serious injury during the season... Everything that has been going wrong for the patriots has gone wrong except for losing tom
