*2020 US Presidential Elections* - Candidates, Statistics, Campaign Timelines, Debates

Doubling and tripling down on profound levels of stupidity is like joining the mafia. After a while one gets so deep there is no way out, but to sink even deeper. After all what's the alternative? Coming out and admitting to ones stupidity? Realizing one's worldview and belief system has been a lie maybe their entire life. That takes a strength of characters, courage, and self-reflection people like that just don't have.

It's also like the old saying goes, "It's easier to fool people than to convince them they've been fooled."

Not at all. It may impact his ability to run in 2024 though.
I know a lot of people are talking about that, but I honestly don't see him going through with it. He's had his fun, and I'm sure he's spending the last month making deals that will carry him throughout the next decade.

If anything, the biggest deterrent IMO is that he would still have to get the GOP 2024 nomination, and I'm sure he's going to have some serious competition. I can't see him risk losing that race. His ego wouldn't be able to take losing an election, and then failing to win a party nomination.

I wouldn't put it past him to do it purely as a dick move, just to fuck with whoever does get the next nomination. If he's not the nominee, then why should the nominee get his minions? He'll just stir up his lemmings and strip them away from the republican party to show that he can. He doesn't give a shit about the republican party if he's not at the head of it.

He's not going to run. He's almost bankrupt. He's spending at least $315 million annually on his failing golf courses and other properties. There is no positive inflow of cash. Hasn't been since The Apprentice TV show. He's been living on his name and licensing agreements for years. As I stated in the Trump's Legacy thread, the Service has been auditing his 2011 federal tax return and the Trump Organization corporate tax returns. He could be on the hook for about $110.2 million with penalties and interest on the civil charges. Then comes an IRS criminal investigation on the filing of fraudulent tax returns. There is also the $421 million dollar matter on the loans issue that he is personally liable and responsible for that come due in four years. Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi is calling that a potential conflict of interest. A national issue. Since these loans could be to foreign businessmen or nations. And that could become a government clearance issue. Throw on top of that a few more separate U.S. Prosecutor's indictments on any additional fraud and corruption charges. They can really throw the book at him. Felony convictions would not allow him to run. The House of Representatives would make sure of that.

I hear you and agree with you completely. It would be my own assessment, if not for ...

... harkening back to my 2016 self: "No way Trump gets the nomination." and then "No way Trump wins the presidency."

[To be clear, I never want to see him on a ballot again.]

46 minutes is nothing.

Arizona Republicans hosted a 10-hour 'legislative hearing' on the election. I commented out loud: "Who would listen to this shit for 10 hours?"
https://www.azcentral.com/story/opi...ers-seize-arizona-electoral-votes/6469792002/

The final parts of the article sum it up nicely:

State Senator-elect Wendy Rogers, who knocked off Sen. Sylvia Allen in this year's GOP primary and went on to win the general election tweeted:
"This election was stolen ... We will get to the bottom of it. People must go to jail."
Yet I'm guessing Rogers – who after five losses finally won an election – will be going to the Legislature in January despite the election being "stolen".
There is, after all, always room for one more in the clown car.

How destructive are you when Newt calls you destructive? I think I agree with Lin Wood here: Republicans should peacefully protest by not voting in the Senate runoff.
https://thehill.com/homenews/campai...ood-and-sidney-powell-are-totally-destructive
Newt: "Lin Wood and Sidney Powell are totally destructive. Every Georgia conservative who cares about America MUST vote in the runoff. Their don't vote strategy will cripple America."

Wood: "Perdue and Loeffler have not “earned” votes ... Why would you go back and vote in another rigged election, for God's sake? Fix it! You gotta fix it!”

https://thehill.com/homenews/admini...barr-over-voter-fraud-remarks-he-hasnt-looked
Trump about Barr: “He hasn’t done anything, so he hasn’t looked. When he looks, he’ll see the kind of evidence that right now you are seeing in the Georgia Senate. They are going through hearings right now in Georgia and they are finding tremendous volumes. So, they haven’t looked very hard. Which is a disappointment, to be honest with you, because it's massive fraud.”

Tremendous volumes of bullshit is what I see.

Americans' attention spans aren't the greatest, but in my view if he does end up running in 2024 I just don't see anybody else being able to win the republican nomination over him. His base is that mindlessly rabid. Does anybody really think Mitt Romney is going to get ahead of him for example or Ted Cruz, Marco Rubio, Tucker Carlson? Plus baring being forced like going to prison or something to that level he's not going to just give up the spotlight.

The greatest chance of something taking him down is if somebody is smart enough to keep pushing Big Macs his way so he keeps shoving his face full of them and suffers a heart attack in the next couple of years. I would say his further mental deterioration would normally keep him out in any normal circumstance, but he's unhinged and already has clinical mental problems as it is and too many people just don't care. Unless he's gets to a point he's not really functional anymore too many of his followers won't care. Hell, his stupidity is a common link for both of them. It's part of what binds them together, and they might actually see it as a positive.

Heard some media expert on the radio today who's been studying trump and pondering trump tv etc and he reckoned the most likely case is that he ends up with his own slot on fox news for a significant amount of money. Does seem plausible. I'm sure rupert isn't happy about losing all those trumptards to OANN and newsmax.

Trey Crowder on the Georgia runoffs. It's 3 minutes long and if it doesn't make you laugh, you're dead inside.

Republicans seem to be on the verge of giving up the one advantage they've always had over us when it comes to winning elections - the willingness to show up and vote for their patry's candidate even if they rape and stuff.

Their rock-stupid baby-king lost a free and fair election despite them really not wanting him to.

Many Georgia republicans are floating the idea of not voting in the runoffs as a sign of disgust with the current state of their party/objective physical reality.

“We ask you, O God, for deliverance, that our country may continue to know freedom. Would you deliver these races in Georgia, O Father? Would you deliver various local and state races, Father … and O God, I personally ask, for myself, Michele Bachmann, Lord, would you allow Donald Trump to have a second term as president of the United States?”

"He is highly biblical, and I would say to your listeners, we will in all likelihood never see a more godly, biblical president again in our lifetime,"

I don't really see Trump as a Biblical anything. Praying for selfish needs seems a bit against what is actually in the Bible.
