Sorry Kenny!
Soderling should hold on from here too. That Haider-Maurer guy has a huge serve though, over 30 aces by now?

Apparently Ferrero won his match without making a single unforced error. Not sure how legitimate that is though, a few of the other matches have had unusually low UE counts too.

Feds latest tweener from his match with Dabul :surprise:

Waaay better start for him this time compared to Wimbledon, comfy win

couldn't agree more.

And more good news for Rogerholics: his nearest seed, Hewitt, lost in 1st round against Paul H Mathieu.

Next for Roger, is german No. 104 Andreas Beck, who has never played against Roger. He has never pass the 2nd round in a Grand Slam, and something tells me this year will be no exception.

He has 1 ATP final (lost against Bellucci in Gstaad 2009) and reached QF in Montecarlo 2009, losing to Wawrinka.

Wow, so Hewitt goes out in the 1st? I think his days are numbered. Maybe he should start looking into announcing or something. One of my all time favorites - sad to see his career go away in this fashion.

Gulbis again showing no interest. What a waste of talent. If I was as talented as this kid I would be one of the greatest. Shame. He's already rich so he has no real incentive to work.

agree.

That's good news for Ferrer.

Baghdatis lost as well in 1st round against clement in 5 tight sets.

Good news for Mardy Fish

Clement is a horse. He's been around forever it seems. Fish is not experiencing the walkover he expected. If he expects to go deep he needs to be stronger than this match he (seems) to be about to win.

This Fish/Hajek match is crazy! Fish has won 2 sets 6-0 and is up 3-0 in the fifth!

fortunately, Fish won that one ;)

another seed falling down: Monaco lost against Polansky.

Nole must be happy for this.

BUT he should be very worried for his match: 5 tight sets, 3 1/2 hours, he was two sets down, break down. Not very promising.

another seeded fall down in 1st round: Stepanek lost against Benneteau

good news for Berdych.

and of course, bad news for the worm, who is having a terrible 2010, plagued with injuries and losing in 1st/2nd round of every grand slam/masters 100 played.

Dolgopolov, you have failed me! :(
Got whooped by Ferrer.

The night session is going to be good though, both number 1s on court

Nalby struggling, Blake not looking horrible, Nadal ok, might get overpowered later. Gabashvili way better than Dabul.
Wozniacki forgot to bring along the last few inches of her dress.

Wozniacki forgot to bring along the last few inches of her dress.

You noticed that huh? She's a naughty little girl. She did that for me. :pimpdaddy

That Gullickson chick has got some wicked hard groundstrokes. I can see tallent there. She's a little too rough around the edges though to expect anything out of this match.

* Nalbandian dig deep, but he played actually very good, so, it's no problem.
* Blake is looking better than the last 18 months.
* Rafa was strong, but has too many problems against such a player. He might have even more trouble against Istomin, who is coming from a final in New Haven. Actually, the only time they have played, Istomin won a set.
* Wozzie looking extremely good (both in form and beauty). That chick is the object of a million jerk-offs these days, for sure.
* By the way, Safina lost in 1st round... what a jerk. She's now no. 50 in the world... talk about a not-even-a-one-slam-wonder

Roger Federer: Can His Top 20 Records in Tennis Ever Be Broken?

http://bleacherreport.com/articles/...n-his-top-20-records-in-tennis-ever-be-broken

The most impressive, IMO, is the streak of consecutive finals won
But many of them are just impossible to equal, i think.

The case that Roger is not the GOAT is just unsustainable.

 Azarenka retires after collapse

Number ten seed Victoria Azarenka collapsed on court in the searing heat at the US Open during her second-round match against Gisela Dulko.

JESUS!!

Brad Gilbert picked her to win it.

Lots of Americans playing good today. Klahn, Harrison, and we'll see how Young does, but Querrey needs to beat this Klahn fella because we need him to go deep.

Was she sick or something? Hard to think a 21yo number 11 player would collapse from heat after six games...

And now Berdy is gone!

And now Berdy is gone!

Yeah. Definitely the biggest suprise so far. He was no. 7 seed after all.
Good news for Isner/Youzhny and Murray fans.

Ljubicic also lost against american R. Harrison. Good news for Feliciano Lopez and Rafa.
