Die For Me
Troicki was up 5-2 30-0 serving for the match in the 5th but ended up losing 7-5.

Combined with being two sets and a break up the day before, he is not going to be thinking good thoughts for a while
Making a habit of blowing big leads...
Murray gets through looking vulnerable again, don't think Chela is good enough to beat him though so he could get to the SF. The first person that can keep it together when they are close to winning will probably beat him though, maybe Nadal. He would be favourite to beat Soderling probably.
Fed to play soon...

Nadal beat Murray in straights, not too surprising...
But Fed finally ended Novaks streak! 4 sets, 2 tiebreaks, sets up another Fedal final.
Nadal has won them all at RG, Fed looking good though, serving great.
Djokovic won 41 straight matches to start the season, one short of JMacs record.
Also by not winning here, he may not be number one yet. But still quite soon he will be.
Where's lechepicha, this is Rogers best result this season, would likely say unexpected too :spump:
Wouldn't have minded a Nadal/Djokovic clay final trilogy but...
Schiavone/Li and Fedal, should be good finals :hybrid:

Li Na wins  6-4 7-6
First Chinese GS singles winner, she is cool. Nice to see her win.
Almost lost it in the second but she was tough and pulled it out, 7-0 in the TB even.
Fedal to come tomorrow.

Nadal wins his 6th RG, tying Borg
7-5 7-6 5-7 6-1
Was close for awhile, Fed had some chances but the King of Clay reigns.
If Fed can keep playing like this at Wimbledon and USO he could make the finals and maybe go one better. Not done yet I would say.
He has the record now of reaching each slam final at least 5 times.
That is Roland Garros finished :hybrid:

Kohlschreiber won one of his home tournaments: Halle against another German Philipp - this time Petzschner
The first set went to a tiebreak which PK won but Petz was unfortunately injured (lower back strain) around that time and retired after falling to 0-2 in the second set.
Still Kohli played a great tournament all around, beating Hewitt and Monfils in straight sets, plus not facing a break point in the last 8 sets he played.
It is his third title after Munich and Auckland and second Halle final - he lost the first one to Federer.

Tsonga/Murray at Queens Club would be playing now too but there is a rain delay. Might have to take the reserve day if it keeps up.

He kicked Roddicks butt in the semi-final :hammer:
6-3 6-1 , Murray said he got lucky and nothing could go wrong.
Roddick looks kind of done though, his game is becoming weaker and ineffective. Don't think he will go too deep in Wimbledon, which would be too bad. But he is getting older and worn down I guess...

yep, i was shocked at how inept Rod was ! he used to be a great (USA) player...going downhill from here?

Die For Me
Quite likely I guess, although he is still in the top 10 for now, as well as Fish.
They are both old though and their positions aren't too secure.
Querrey and Isner aren't top 10 guys, they should stay in the top 20-50 for a while though.
Ryan Harrison is a young guy for the future, the US is putting some hopes in him.
His younger brother is supposed to be good too but still developing.
On the other side, the US women get a bump from the Williams Sisters returning. Serena looks fit again - http://www.imagebam.com/image/f0e347136299049 not sure how she will do after a long layoff, but big results have happened before.
Still after them, the womens ranks look bleak, worse than the men :uohs:

well, Williams sisters i am completely bored by ! so dull !

Serena just got beat by Zvonareva in Eastbourne, 7-5 in the third.
She is seeded 8 at Wimbledon so she won't have to play Vera-quality players so early.
Clijsters had an ankle injury and is now officially out of Wimbledon.

+ a Serbian ad for Wimby, doesnt end well for Nadal :uohs:

persona non grata

Well, she could meet Sabine Lisicki who is lowly ranked because of injuries but in terms of quality she´s probably top five in the world on grass. Lisicki was supposed to play the qualifying for Wimbledon but when she did so well in Nottingham (she won the tournament) they gave her a wildcard.

Sabine is constistently interesting but at the same time disapointing. I expect her to challenge little for the rest of her career. :2 cents:

She should be better now that her injury troubles are over with. She won Birmingham a few days ago so her form is good. Plus she is still only 21.
Could be up there with Petkovic and Goerges if she stays healthy.

Wimbledon draw is being carried out now. Nadal/Murray and Fed/Djokovic SF's according to the radio, website has it the other way round. Needs confirmation.
More to come...

Isner drew Mahut again in the first round, lol

Predicted QF's

Nadal V Berdych
Murray V Roddick
Ferrer V Federer
Soderling V Djokovic

Unlikely it will turn out that way though

The seeds are now being put in the ladies' draw
Serena is down the bottom in Zvonareva's half, as is Na Li. Wozniacki in the top half has Schiavone, Azarenka, Sharapova and Stosur, as well as Petkovic, Goerges and Pavlyuchenkova.
Seeds in the bottom half Zvonareva has Serena and Venus Williams, Jankovic, Bartoli, Kuznetsova, Na Li, Kvitova and Ana Ivanovic in her half of the draw.

SI picks for winner, sleeper and flameout

http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2011/tennis/06/17/wimbledon.mens.picks/index.html?sct=tn_t11_a4
No picks for Fed! I would have expected at least one...
Djokovic gets just one pick, Murray two and the rest for Nadal.
One guy picked Nadal as the winner and Raonic as the sleeper even though they would meet in the third round. Duh...

http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2011/tennis/06/17/wimbledon.womens.picks/index.html?sct=tn_bf1_a4
Williams sisters still get favourites tags on the womens side, with some Li Na and Sharapova thrown in.
Woz is the majority favourite to go out early. She did lose 6-2 6-0 in the fourth round last year and Wimbledon has been her least successful slam.

ESPN Picks, quite different
http://espn.go.com/sports/tennis/picks/_/tournament/6

Fed is their top guy, Sharapova is a heavy favourite on the women's side, Serena not on there at all.

Upset with Lisicki taking out Li 8-6 in the third :hammer:Wanted to watch that but fell asleep before. Good for Sabine taking over Li's 3rd seed spot, makes it easier to go deep. Her serve is Williams sisters like, getting over 120 mph in that match. She has the fastest recorded womens serve ever too of course at 210kmh/130mph.
Ivanovic could be in the fourth round but can't be sure how she will play.
The match before was an almost upset with Hewitt getting 2 sets to 0 up over Soderling but then Robin fought back to win in 5.
Fed and Nadal doing it easier than last year, no 5 set scares yet. Also Raonic pulling out injured probably helps Nadal, he gets to play Muller instead.
Ryan Harrison is doing well, 2-1 sets up on Ferrer and Roddick plays today against Lopez which could be good.

I watched Sabine win. It was good. Sorry to see one of my favorites in Hewitt go out like that against the Swedish Assassin. Look forward to see what Roddick can do - if he can go deep again.

Roddick out to Lopez, it's becoming more likely that he will never reach a slam final again, let alone win one. Just hasn't got it anymore.
Zvonareva goes down to saucy Pironkova, I guess shrieky Venus will beat her next though.
She won alongside fellow shriekers Sharapova and Azarenka.
