NFL '11 Season Thread

The Lion and the Broncos are my two sleeper teams this season.

Some say the Lions are good enough to make it to the Super Bowl. I don't know if I would go that far, just need to see it for myself. But they certainly look good enough to make it to the playoffs.

As for the Broncos, they look much better than a 4 win team they were last year. Kyle Orton is a stud. He may not be in the Brady/Manning/Bress/Rogers/Rives class, but he's certainly in the second tier class. Also, Elvis Dumervil and Von Miller are unblockable. The Broncos could have one of the best pass-rushing defenses in the NFL.

Detroit has never been good and Detroit will never be good. The greatest RB in history (Barry Sanders) couldn't save that franchise. ;)

NFC North - Green Bay
NFC South - New Orleans

Wild Card 2 - Denver (A little biased because they're my favorite team, but they look really good this preseason.)

unless the Eagles improve the offensive line 6 to 8 wins is what i see.
the Giants secondary has been shredded by injuries already.
Pre-season counts for little, the last great lions pre-season was the year they went 0-16 but 4-0 in the preseason
do not buy into the 49ers the look terrible on offense they might be a better 2nd half team the lookout really hurt them

Slight change....I see the Rams and Lions making some noise in the NFC this year and the Texans finally breaking out and winning the AFC South.

That's quite a commitment for a guy who's had 1 really good year his entire career, is 31 years old, has a criminal record, and has never seriously contended for a title.

There's no way he ever has a season as good as last year. But he still isn't as badly overpaid as Kevin Kolb. What exactly has Kolb done to deserve from $13 million a year from the Cardinals? Jack shit, that's what.

Anyway, comforming with the trend, here's my predictions....

NFC North - Green Bay
NFC South - New Orleans
NFC East - Philadelphia
NFC West - Seattle (something tells me they'll end up with Carson Palmer)
Wild Card 1 - Atlanta
Wild Card 2 - New York

AFC North - Pittsburgh
AFC South - Houston
AFC East - New England
AFC West - San Diego
Wild Card 1 - New York
Wild Card 2 - Indianapolis

Should teams or the league put rules (or even be allowed to put rules) on players using social media, most notably twitter? Every team has a twitter account to let fans follow, but players...

There is also that a lot of the value he does have is tied to his athleticism and speed and considering his age that could go fast also.

Maybe they should have a PR guy who filters the entire teams tweets. They can't ban players from using Twitter. Think of the jersey sales from fans trading tweets with players. It's a good thing, but a few bad apples are too fucking stupid to know when to keep their mouths shut.

here is my predictions for 2011

NFC South: New Orleans
NFC West: St.Louis

NFC Wildcard: Atlanta, Washington

AFC East: New England
