That's a good point. He's a good player but he benefits greatly playing next to Urlacher and particularly in the Tampa-2 scheme that the Bear's run. The only thing he does well is tackle, which is important for the weak side LB in the defensive scheme. He doesn't rush the passer and he doesn't get sacks. You could easily plug someone else in his position and they would produce, maybe not Briggs numbers, but they would be serviceable. Although I don't see the Bear's acquiescing to Briggs, for the right price I'd deal him.

Briggs knew he was gonna try this bullshit when he signed that top-heavy contract. He honestly didn't count on the Bears also knowing that. Does he not have any idea how many D-linemen have left the Bears thinking they were hot shit, only to fall into that deep pit known as obscurity? Not only are starting this bullshit, but you do it A WEEK before the first fucking game??? That's real bitch made, Lance... and you got zero leverage in this shit, homeboy.

Remember Briggs top loaded contract was due to the Redskins trying to pry him away. Chicago could have let him go and gotten 2 draft picks for him a 1 and a 3.
