NFL '11 Season Thread

johnson and mjd would give me trouble if they were both available when i pick. i know both will be first round picks if one shows up to camp and the other is healthy.

I did a few mock drafts today and MJD was going late second/early third round. Definitely not first round.

I laughed when I saw that. In my opinion, Eli is borderline top ten quarterback in the nfl quarterback right now. Tom Brady is in the same group as Peyton and Eli is nowhere close to Peyton Manning. Maybe in a few years.

Why is everyone riding Cam Newton's jock after 1 freaking preseason game? Good grief. It's always the same story -- overyhyped highly drafted QB does well in preseason and flames out badly in the regular season...

I think CNewton will stuggle next game and then we'll get the "Is he a bust" talk just 1 week later

I do think he's a bust though :thefinger

As a Chargers fan, Eli Manning is the only player ive REALLY hated passionatly

Putting that feeling aside, hes not even top 20 among NFL quarterback, and maybe not having Plax or anyone with his skill to throw to has affected his play alot, but he has had ONE magical playoff run, and he seems to have rested on that success since...At least his brother got back to the Super Bowl after winning his first, i think Eli is content to have the 1 super bowl from what ive seen he has said through the media

Nobody is talking about the schedule for Cam and the Panthers. They have to go up against the NFC north this year, which is a division known for being hard on QBs. The Bears alone put out Matt Stafford and Brett Favre last year, and Mr. Suh for Detroit is a beast animal when it comes to rushing the quarterback. Minnesota and Green Bay aren't bullshit either, so Cam is gonna be in for it.

49ers decide not to sign Daunte Culpepper. :)

49ers sign Josh McCown. :(

Not sure whos running football operastions with that team, but theyve done alot of things in recent years that make you think  Bad free agent signings and horrible drafting has affected that teams progress recently (their only good draft pick has been Patrick Willis and he may not be there once he becomes eligible for FA). Why they brought back Alex Smith is beyond me.....But as a Chargers i do like they didnt try to resign Takeo Spikes :D

Please name 20 QB's better than Eli. I'm not saying he's in Brady or Peyton territory, but he's certainly a top 10 QB.

In no particular order

Peyton
Brees
Brady
Rivers
Rodgers
Ryan
Vick
Eli
Schaub
Big Ben.

If you can name 10 more QB's better than Eli, you'll blow my mind. Freeman isn't there yet. Stafford, Bradford certainly arent there yet. Cassel isn't close. Sanchez, no. Cutler? No. Romo? No. Henne? Fitzpatrick? Flacco? Smith? Hasslebeck? C'mon, lets be serious here.

Replace Eli with Flacco. Eli certainly is in the top 15 though.

I can accept that.

Maybe I'm just naive because I've been cheering for a team who's put out Alex Smith, Troy Smith, JT O'Sullivan, Shaun Hill, Trent Dilfer, Tim Rattay, Ken Dorsey and Jeff Garcia at the QB position. Eli Manning looks like God to me.

That list really made me upset. :(

Cassel and Freeman are better than Eli Manning. Flacco and Romo are his equals. Eli is better than the rest you named.

I'm a Bears fan so you don't have to tell me about sucky QBs. The Bears have thrown out way worse QBs. Henry Burris, Chad Hutchinson, Jonathan Quinn, Craig Krenzel, Rex Grossman, Cade McNown, I could go on and on. Say what you want about Cutler but he's the best QB the Bears have had since at least Jim McMahon.

BCT

Pucker Up Butter Cup.
Eli is good but he is nowhere near the level of his brother or Brady! Eli gets the job done but imo he looks like a noodle arm when he throws. IDK I guess I'm just partial to Aaron Rodgers being a Packer fan, he's the best in my eyes!
