NFL '11 Season Thread

Anybody complaining about the conditions at Soldier Field should simply do what has been done for years now...

Deal with it.

It's a man's game... full contact and meant to be played in the elements. If some team coming in to the Windy City doesn't like it, perhaps Arena League is a little more suitable. This isn't the first time the field has been like this, and it won't be the last. Get over it or stay home.

For me, it's not so much that the players might have to play on a surface that isn't perfect, but that at this time of year, near the height of summer, when it's hardly been used by the team during the lockout and the season hasn't even started playing the season, that it's very unprofessional as an organization to have a field in bad condition, especially with the money and resources a NFL teams.

If anything it should be in better condition now than it has been in years.

Niceness! Now all we need to do us get a good backup qb... And we're ready to play some football. :nanner:

I think Tyrod deserves a little more than just 3 quarters of a preseason game. He didnt play that bad and with the right quarterback coach helping him he can became a decent play. If y'all dont want him, id love the Eagles to sign him as a 3 and let my boy Andy Reid coach him up into Vick2.0

there are a few exaggerator commentators that i always cant wait to hear them say after week 1 'this team won by 30, theyre super bowl contenders' or 'Steelers only won by 3, theyre in big trouble already'

these are my favorite comments cause these are the people who really think week 1 is the make or break game.

My dad is going to draft Tebow in one of his leagues, even though the ESPN cast never miss an opportunity to say he is garbage.

Tebow will be the starter, next season, this season hes going to sit i think, and than they will make a more serious effort to trade Kyle Orton. Kyle Orton is not a winning QB in my view, he was 3-10 last season, had chances to win more but couldnt, the one season he took the bears to the NFC championship game it was the defense that got the bears there, not him. That Denver team is not going anywhre for a while so they can afford to waste this season away with Orton while the young guys develope so it opens everything up for Tebow next season. When it comes to it, teams care about winning, not stats, so if your QB is not winning games, why keep him

Your dad sounds like the type of guy I would love in my league! Or play poker with!

Are you being facetious?

Actually, the guy plays in three leagues every year and he's won a number of them as well. The guy does his homework. He used to have the NFL pass but saw that with like 20 games on at the same time it was a total waste of money. Still has the NFL channel though!

The ESPN talking heads basically said that if Denver gets off to a slow start and go 0-3 they will put Tebow in. The guy can play because he won the Heisman, although the Heisman is a bit of a curse when it comes to the pro transition.

So when the Bronco’s defense was ranked dead last in the league, the Broncos lost because of Kyle Orton and his QB ranking in the top half of the league and not the defense?

If he wants to draft a guy who is the 3rd best qb on a terrible team because of his heart, then yes I would love to play poker with him.

Orton can ball. I'd take him in San Fran any time. Although I think Harbaugh is going to turn Kaepernick into a killer.

What is Denver asking for Orton?

lol...that guy has won so many fantasy leagues. Anyway, we visit this thread in a year or so if we are still both around these parts and we'll just have to see if Tebow is a bust. And I don't like him because he is a bible thumper - because he seems to be a genuinely good person and Heisman alum.

Type of guy to root for, but not to bet on.

Of course in ff it's not just about the guy you draft, but it's also about the other guys that could have been drafted at that spot.

Well I will try to let you know who he picks up. We talked about Tebow last week getting our 18 holes in and he didn't say for certain. I think he had Brady and AP last year though if I remember correctly.

Not a bad first and second round pick.

I recently looked back at last years draft....Andre Johnson, Peyton and Jamaal Charles were frst 3 picks in a 12 team league. I also got Darren McFadden in the 9th. I lucked out on those.
