NFL '11 Season Thread

Deion Sanders literally changed the way to play corner. He is the best to ever play the position. He could be flashy and arrogant because he knew he was the best. There is a reason that everyone tunes in for Priiiiiiime Tiiiiiiiime.

He probably is one of the best CBs ever. It's just too bad he couldn't make a decent tackle or shed a block if his life depended on it.

He didn't need to tackle, he made plays were it counts. Today CB have to hit.

Deion Sanders was the Barry Bonds of his position. Did Barry revolutionize the outfield position?

No.

What Barry did the more than anyone is hit the ball out of the park, and that can never be overlooked. Deion didn't have the most interceptions, but did the most with them. He hit the ball out of the park. Often.

Ray Rice's fantasy stock just dropped!

Yeah....sure did. Hurts me since I'm drafting 6th in our league and Rice has better than a 50/50 shot of being available when I pick. Maybe I should grab Vick instead (if he's there....odds are one of them will be) and take an RB in the second round....or perhaps a stud WR? :dunno:

Ricky will be a good short-yardage and goal-line option who will steal a decent number of points from Rice. In fact, the number of teams that have a single feature back instead of some form of RBBC has dwindled to almost nobody.

Awesome, inspiring speech by "Prime Time" IMO.

Actually Dion Sanders was terrible at tackling and at stopping the run. While from a casual fan perspective that might not seem like a big deal, it's a bigger part of a corner's job than most people realized. He wasn't just bad at tackling, he would actually shy away from it.

I'm not one to discount that at all but I think it was pretty much overblown.

One of those things that got started and perpetuated by Sanders himself IMO.

You don't get to where he got being a defensive player and not tackling.:2 cents:

It's a fucking joke that the Bears, a pro football team, can't field a proper playing surface. How embarrassing it was for them to have to cancel family night at Soldier Field on Friday because someone forgot to turn the damn sprinklers on. If turf is good enough for the Patriots, then it should be good enough for the Bears.

Cris Carter needs to be in, if he doesn't that's crazy! The guy was awesome!

Even though a Suckeye...I must admit he had a pair of the greatest hands ever in the league....

The redskins have made some nice moves... But, when your two quarterbacks are Rex Grossman and John Beck... You'll be lucky to win 6 games...

I'm a Packers fan that lives in KC, the Chiefs have the same crap, they can't put a good field surface either. I don't like soccer at all but thats what causes that bad playing surface, do you guys have a soccer team that plays at soldier field because if so that may be the reason?. Soccer just destroys a beautiful playing surface!

The field at Soldier Field isn't just used for the Bear's games. Throughout the year high school football games are played there and every so often you have soccer games. No wonder the field looks like crap.

If the field is in that bad of shape it's scary considering the season hasn't even started yet.

Anybody complaining about the conditions at Soldier Field should simply do what has been done for years now...

Deal with it.

It's a man's game... full contact and meant to be played in the elements. If some team coming in to the Windy City doesn't like it, perhaps Arena League is a little more suitable. This isn't the first time the field has been like this, and it won't be the last. Get over it or stay home.
