Apparantly one of the reasons they are paying him that much is that by the time the January or Summer transfer window opens it boosts the players value. If it were based solely on his form of late i'd rather have Heskey upfront... Oh wait a minute, we do have Heskey upfront!

Sorry to disappoint you bazza but even with all that quality on the pitch they still played like shit, it was one of the most uneventful, passionless derbys I have ever watched. Still atleast Man Utd. did'nt win eh.
Anyway, on to more important matters, great result for the Villa. A much needed and overdue win!

Anyone see this weeks games? We were awful in the first half against Arsenal. Second half was much better and I'm very pleased that what is pretty much our reserve team can give the likes of Arsenal a scare.
Disappointed to lose but considering 11 players are injured I was'nt expecting too much.

I'm an Arsenal fan and I was getting a little worried in the second half when Aston Villa got that second goal. Sometimes it's frustrating watching Arsenal. I like Aston Villa though because they have a couple of Americans on the team.
Haha, Ashton you should try being a Villa fan, you go through a rollercoaster of emotions every game! Hell it would'nt be Villa if we did'nt provide truly nailbiting moments in the last 10 minutes of every match, followed immediately by sweet relief or crushing disappointment.
The problem I've found with Arsenal is that they always try to score the hard way. It's like they arn't allowed to score unless 20 passes have been strung together followed by some fancy trickery that only a circus performer would dream of. They play some of the most beautiful football I have ever seen but sometimes you just want them to get to the point.

How do bad teams ascend to the top ranks? That's what I like about the NFL compared to other sporting leagues, the parity can be pretty good and even teams from very depressed cities can claw their way back into playoff contention with the nfl draft and good management.
