Coronavirus

We went to Red Lobster for all you can eat shrimp Mondays this week. Of course we are vaccinated to within an inch of our lives. No problems. Everyone wore a mask when moving around and seating was keep separate.

Never been to Red Lobster but all you can eat shrimp sure sounds good. We pretty much operate the same way both being vaccinated and wearing masks when entering/leaving restaurants. Glad you two had a nice night out.

Your wife must be a very understanding woman And a great cook. Or you are. My wife would eat out 5 days a week if she could and she never cooks. I do it all.
Understanding? Depends on the day. She is pragmatic, so it is her choice.

Great cook? Absolutely. It is cheaper to eat at home, better for you (less salt, butter, etc.), and can be adjusted for taste. She enjoys cooking and finding new recipes. No one goes hungry in the mase home.

I haven’t cooked much of anything (except on a grill) over the past 28 years. Although she is professionally employable - and was so when she got pregnant the first time - she hasn’t had to work outside the home in 25 years.

Tell me about it. Next thing you know, you'll be telling me Trump's COVID timeline was false too.

How many times did Trump get COVID? I think the last time he kicked it with Cup O' Noodles.

"It's just so tremendous! I've had COVID more times than anyone has ever seen!"

I forget, did they ever reveal the specific elixir "cocktail" they gave him?

Does he look brown to you in that picture? Maybe some brown shoe polish applied to his face? -- Maybe the orange is peeling? :p

Though President Trump told people to drink ... bleach ...

I made my appointment for the Moderna booster (I had the first Pfizer Covid-19 vaccine in March 2021 and the second Pfizer Covid-19 vaccine in April 2021.)

Same day, I'll get the flu shot too.

Whatever it was, it would be too expensive for most Americans' health insurance to cover.
Most Americans' health insurance has a cap on how much the insurance company will pay, probably less than $100K.
But evil ahole Trump was president when he got covid, so he had free unlimited health insurance paid by the government.
Even if it cost $100 million to save his fat ass, the government would have paid it.

Part three is continuing to set records:

Meanwhile, Florida had 31,758 new COVID-19 cases on Friday, breaking a record for the most cases in a single day since the start of the pandemic in the U.S. in March 2020, according to data from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The new record was driven by the spread of the new omicron variant through the Sunshine State. The previous single-day highest number of cases was in last August, during the height of the delta variant wave in Florida, when 27,802 cases were reported.

Won't surprise me if there is an Omega variant of Covid in the near future.
What is used after the last Greek letter?
At that point it will have mutated enough we can call it COVID-24, or whatever year we are in, and then start over from Alpha. I'm going to assume we won't have more than 24 variants per year.

It will basically be like how we denote car model years.
"Yeah, I just got the 2027 COVID-Nu. I had the 2025 COVID-Zeta but I wanted to keep current"

Was shopping in a superstore and two oversized blokes you could only describe as typical white trash were walking around without masks, and literally challenging anyone who was staring at them. "What are you looking at, why don't you take a picture?!", etc. Pretty obvious they were looking to start a fight with anyone who told them to mask up. The store employees just stood there; not that I blame them, I wouldn't risk getting assaulted working for minimum wage.

It's one thing if you choose not to vaccinate, but keep it to yourself. But it pisses me off when anti-vaxxers/anti-maskers are just so belligerent and actually proud of putting everyone at risk. I'll openly admit I really hope that dickwads like that suffer from the virus in the worst way possible.
