Russia loses to Finland. 1-3
After all Putin is a human being too.

So between all the sarcasm and criticism on Sochi, Russia, Putin etc I would have enjoyed seeing them playing semifinals as the host.

Congratulations to Finland. They earned their victory.
Now they have to face Sweden.

Not that I care much about figure skating, but the whole ladies' free skating was rigged! The beautiful Korean Yuna Kim should have won! Even expert Katharina Witt said she doesn't understand how she didn't win.

She was first after the short program and made a perfect free skate. She still loses by 5 points to the Russian girl. Yeah such a coincidence! Fuck those Russians! Glad they're out of the hockey tournament!


Btw the ladies' final looks great! Really fun to watch. I mean I don't know much about hockey, but it doesn't look a whole lotta different to a men's game. They play really fast. Great final! Looks like the US girls will be a deserved winner.

But well overtime makes this game even more awesome! And I was "rooting" for both teams as I like both. I just wanted the best to win.

USA women deserved to lose. Fucking chokesticks. Have to say though that the refs pretty much set Canada up with that bullshit slash call in the OT. What a goddamned joke the reffing was in that women's tournament. Anyway...

A total choke. Up by 2 with less than 4 minutes to play and you cough it up?? How does that happen??

Congrats to the Canadian women. We held it out there and they took it away from us. I'm not blaming the refs for the loss (although I do believe that the whistle should be swallowed in OT except for only the most egregious offenses) but I would agree that it was piss-poor officiating all the way around.

That was quite a game. I thought the Canadian women played very flat for periods one and two, and really picked things up in the third and overtime. The bullshit call of a penalty instead of a penalty shot was such crap. They said she crosschecked, her stick didn't touch her, and she was trying to avoid her. And I thought there were several calls in favour of the Americans early in the game, but whatever.

You can't say they don't deserve the gold. If the Americans had won, they would have deserved it. They both are excellent teams. Canada had already beaten them once in the round robin.

Five Olympics in a row winning Women's hockey gold. That's domination!
