Staying would be good if they can.

Delpo is about to play, heads up :hammer:

Dolgo won his match against Starace, although his first serve % dropped to 46 at one point.
He is now into the SF against Mello who is playing well, won't be an easy match.
If he wins, Almagro will probably be waiting in the final. Another tough match, but that is to be expected.

Kohlschreiber and Soderling had a good match in Rotterdam. Sod was 0-3 against Kohl before this match, but he fought his way to a 3rd set tiebreak win this time.
Both players saved match points (one a great CC BH pass by Philipp) but Soderling turned on best class for the victory.

LJUBICIC SALUTES NADAL & FEDERER

http://www.atpworldtour.com/News/Tennis/2011/02/Other/Ljubicic-Salutes-Federer-Nadal.aspx

“I always felt with [Pete] Sampras and [Andre] Agassi they had two or three tournaments where they were not good at all and they would lose first round. That’s not happening with these two guys. That’s why they’ve been up there for such a long time, because it’s really difficult to win one single game against them.”

“It’s just nature. I don’t think it’s Roger’s fault or something that Djokovic and Murray are doing better than other guys. It’s just natural that that change will come eventually.”

Kim beat Dokic 6-2 6-0 today, so she will be the new number one when the rankings are updated

Raonic beat Berankis 6-4 7-6 to reach the SF in San Jose  He plays either Monfils or Smyczek. Monfils should win but he might be carrying an injury.
It is Milos' first ATP semi.

At last we have a WTA #1 that truly worth her rank, 'cause, no offense to their fans but Dokic, Jankovic, Ivanovic or Wozniacki weren't worthy enough for the #1 rank.

The usual complaint is that the number one doesnt have any slam wins, so I wouldnt put Ivanovic in there even if she did drop off afterwards.
Dokic was never number one so I guess that was a mistake.

The Great Dolgo  just made his first ATP final by beating Ricardo Mello 6-2 6-1 at the Brasil Open.
He plays Almagro in the final, the guy with 7 clay titles. Should be a good match.

Almagro in three tight sets, IMO.

Classy Almagro wins the Brasil Open 6-3 7-6.
Alex just couldnt break his serve, lots of consistent power baselining from Nico.
Impatience and mistakes costing Dolgo, kind of let Almagro play his game too much too, but good job reaching the final.

Raonic and Karlovic played an exo in place of the SF with Dr. Ivo winning 7-6 7-6.
Afterwards there was a serving contest which Milos won with a 145mph hit (151 max which missed) compared to Karlovic's 142 I think (144 max which missed).
Delpo/Verdasco are up soon.

It's the 8th career title for the spaniard (all of them in clay), first in 6 months, third in the last 7 months. Not bad.

It's the sixth consecutive year with at least a title for Nicolás.

And it's his fourth consecutive final won.

Maybe this year is the one he make a Final in Monaco/Rome/Madrid/Roland Garros...

:clap::clap:

and for Dolgo, it was his first career final. He now looks good for the "red season".

Verdasco ousts Delpo in San Jose 6-4 6-4
Nando looking like an actual top 10 player in this tournament, pretty good chance to win the whole thing. We will see what Milos has to say about that tomorrow.

Hantuchova beat Zvonareva in Pattaya City 7-6 6-4.
People want to take hits at Woz for being a slamless number one, but Zvonareva got to number two winning only one Tier 1 tournament in her career (2009) and one title last year. She made a bunch of finals though.
Good job by Daniela :hatsoff: She plays Errani for the title tomorrow

he beat Tsonga in three tight sets.

It's his 8th career title, 2nd of the year (leads ATP Tour), 3rd in the last 3 months.

For Jo-Wilfried, it was his 7th career title, first in 16 months.

They both now goes to France for the Open 13 ATP 250 tournament this week. Robin will be top seed, and Tsonga, 6th.

projected QFs for that:

Soderling-Llodra
Melzer-Ljubicic
Tsonga-Youzhny/Davydenko/Simon
Gulbis-Berdych

nice field!

The Birth of a Star: Milos Raonic won his maiden title at the ATP 250 of San Jose

wow!

after his great 4th round at Oz'11, the youngster did it! (20 years old): he won his first title against the top-seeded spaniard, in straight sets (both tie-breakers)

and of course, he close it with his speciality: an ace

now he will be no. 59, his career-high

for Fer, it was his 14th career title, first in 9 months

he was clearly upset all along the match... shame on him. He almost didn't salute the canadian at the net :nono:

Yeah Milos
7-6 7-6
A bit of controversy with that guy in the crowd making noise at the end.
World number 59 now

The funny thing is they will play each other in the first round next tournament in Memphis

Woz has the chance to regain number 1 if she makes the Dubai SF btw

Video of the guy who yelled out during championship point. This guy better wear a :anonymous for a while :ban2:

Lame way to end the match. Feel bad for Verdasco and Milos too. He probably didn't want to win like that.
