Roddick finally stops Milos 7-6 6-7 7-5, what a shot to take championship point!

did you notice that when he realized that his almost-bald head got uncovered (his cap fell off for the effort), he quickly put it back on ? man, he's embarrassed to show it to the world... :1orglaugh

Milos can be proud of his efforts for sure, especially the way he won the second set.

hell yeah. This kid has the brighest future in the world of tennis right now.

Roddick deserves the win :hatsoff: Joins Fed as the only current player to win a title 11 years in a row. 30 titles in total now.
This guy ain't too bad, you know?

wow. Great stat, thanks.

BUT, i would like to know who owns the record, and with how much ? 15 years ? 20 ? Sampras ? Agassi ? Laver ? McEnroe ? Connors ? :dunno:

by the way, it was Andy's 1st title of the year, and first in 10 months

I think he was torn between 'oh no, I lost my cap' and 'oh no, did I win that point or not?' :D

The longest I know was Connors who had a 13 year streak. There were a lot more smaller tournaments back then so it might be hard to compare though.
Fed might be able to pass that, not sure about Roddick.

Roger FOR SURE will win at least a tournament in the next 2 years, and A-Rod... i'll say it's feasible, but not sure.

speaking or the GOAT...

Roddick quotes on his dive shot. (and youtube replay link here)
http://www.atpworldtour.com/News/Te...y-Roddick-Stops-Raonic-To-Win-30th-Title.aspx
“That’s the best shot I’ve ever hit in my life, considering the circumstance,” said Roddick.
He had a great volley there. I don’t really remember much else besides the fact that I went for the ball, I hit it, I didn’t really think much of it. Then I heard people cheering. I was like, ‘No, there’s no way that went in.’ I guess it did.”

He has good momentum going into Delray Beach now. Quite a few guys from Memphis going there too. Gulbis isn't defending his title there and could slide down the ranking if he doesnt do well in Dubai.
Should be interesting to see if Djokovic will continue his AO type of form. If he does he could win. Otherwise Fed should do well.
Novak cant pass him in the rankings this tournament no matter what the result, only get closer.
Acapulco is looking not too safe :uohs: - http://www.google.com/hostednews/ap...yezdGA?docId=2d01b8cfa42647039f32afd76b16eda5
Guys like Raonic (DC practice probably), Ferrer and Verdasco are going there.
Don't get decapitated ok? :anonymous I'd think about withdrawing and surrendering points in favour of possibly dying.

Raonic-Dolgo in 2nd round looks interesting...

and also Belluci-Verdasco in 1st round.

and about the safety... i've been in several latin-american countries (and i live in one -Bolivia-, but not that violent though) and the truth is: those violence stats are true, but not in the neighborhoods where you go... so, there's no danger in Acapulco, unless you do this:

from http://tennislive.free.fr/race

it's interesting to the diferences between the ranking and the race-ranking:

- Raonic is 7th! :nanner:
- Wawrinka is 8th
- Rafa is 16th
- Verdasco is 21th
- Delpo is 20th

i used to hate the official race, now i love the unnoficial one!

Congrats to A-Rod on #30. Impressive. Anyone have him on the all-time list? Looked like a pretty good field as well.

Raonic also looks like an interesting player and fun to watch.

Raonic out of Acapulco too
http://www.tennis.com/articles/templates/news.aspx?articleid=10692&zoneid=25

I wonder how serious his injury is, that would be on his serving arm. Hopefully it's not too bad, he needed rest after playing ten matches in two weeks anyway. Maybe it was feigned? :tinhat:
It should help Dolgo go further anyway so that is good. He beat Capdeville today 7-5 6-2, and plays Raonic's alternate Muñoz de la Nava or Carlos Berloq next, who isnt too bad.

damn! :(

that's two very bad news for me, since i was gonna root for them.

now, Querrey should win his half, and the other should be Delpo/Fish.

in Mexico, the SFs should be:
Ferrer - Wawrinka/Dolgopolov
Almagro - Chela/Verdasco

in the meantime, in Dubai...

Kohlschreiber won too against Troicki 6-1 7-6, yeah :spump:
Didn't realise Djokovic has won this tournament the last two years running, impressive

Nishikori and Tipsy through as well (he went to 14-12 in his first TB with Karlovic).
Do you have any streams for Delray Beach? They seem to be missing :dunno:

Acapulco seems to be streamless too, although I know that will be on ESPN eventually.

Bellucci def. Verdasco 6-2 4-6 6-3. I guess FeVer can't play 'real tennis' right now either

the first rounds are streamless, just like last week at Memphis.

i guess they think nobody gives a fuck about the 1st rounds, but of course, they couldn't be more wrong.

Bellucci def. Verdasco 6-2 4-6 6-3. I guess FeVer can't play 'real tennis' right now either

YEAH! eat your words, Ver-da-Asco (a word play in spanish that means: he sucks)

he's like :anonymous

Verdasco is a very talented player, very powerful, very skillful, but with a wrong mindset. He's arrogant, mind-weak, and not-a-warrior.

In other news, another case like verdasco, Gulbis, proves us right losing against Stakhovsky

Die For Me
Querrey lost to Ryan 'WTA serve' Sweeting in straight sets at Delray
Maybe he improved his serve by now. His first serve average was hardly faster than Nadals second serve at the AO.
His next opponent Nishikori beat James Blake though. Should be an easier match for Kei, he just has to make sure he takes advantage of it.

Dolgo made it to the Acapulco QF winning 6-4 6-1 against Berlocq
He will play Wawrinka next, a tough one, although Stan had to go to 7-5 in the third to make it past Fognini.

Del Potro brought up 150 career match wins this week too
