Soderling might not have an easy time against Ferrer considering how the court is acting. Its hard to hit through the court it seems.

yeah. The court is very slow for and indoor-hard court, IMO.

I mean, EXTREMELY slow

good for: Rafa, who controls the point even more. Murray, who can defend and impose his style more easily.

bad for: Roger, Nole and Soderling, who base their game in big-time-quick speed forehand winners.

Roger needs to win today against Muzza, specially for his confidence that he actually can get his head-to-head straight. A 5-9 would be very far. A 6-8 is almost even.

Roger wins, Ferrer win, and Roger gets into the SFs in advanced. :2 cents:

Murray played like poop :hammer:
Usually he has been inconsistent between tournaments this year, now inconsistent between matches.
Roger played good, finally beat Murray again.
Both served mostly bad though.

Ferrer for the win I guess since Sods style sucks on this court and he has lost to David on HC fairly recently.

yeah, Muzza played pretty bad. :anonymous

and Roger, i think, played great.

they're now a tight 6-8 in head-to-head (instead of the ugly 5-9 could-have-been)

the key of the match was the 2nd serve points: in their last two matches (finals of Toronto and Shanghai), Roger was terrible in that stat. Today, he was supreme, not only in 2nd serve, but in 1st serve (around 90%!)

the bad news for Roger? Ferrer couldn't win a set, so they're all with chances for the final day (if Ferrer had won a single set, Roger would be classified by now)

the good news? he's playing awesome, and he's 14-1 against the Swede. Yep, that's right: FOURTEEN-to-ONE.

Jesus.

That's a BIG mental edge for Robin to handle...

Reminds me A-Rod for some reason... :elaugh:

Berdych finally came good, bad news for Roddick who looks out of it now.

Nadal/Djokovic looked like it would be really good until Novak had his eye problems. After that the match quality went way down :(

Soderling should be scared, RedFed looking good for 15-1 :hammer:
Murray probably beating Ferrer. Bryan Bros noticed that Andy finally changed his outfit.

damn, that's a shame. Another slam without the world's best player (sorry Kim/Wozzie)

she's the defending champ, so she's going to lose a ton of points (she's currently no. 4, she'll drop very, very low with this)

good news for Clijsters and Wozniacki, of course

Well IMO the Williams's are arguably the top two. It's really impressive if you think about it. Now only if they were hot Swedish girls, maybe I would be more attracted to them. Sorry, they sexually just have no appeal to me.

I wonder if Venus will try to win for her sister though. Watch out for her.

One thing, and maybe you guys can help me out, is why is the Aussie so out of way of the other majors of the year? It just seems so in the middle of nowhere. :dunno:

I think AO is too slow for Venus, she hasnt made it past the quarters since 2003.
She has only ever won the fast slams - Wimbledon and USO.

I'm not sure why they start AO during late January, besides tradition maybe. Its during the Australian summer which is really hot (although Melbourne doesnt seem as bad), and there have been arguments to move it foward about a month(for reasons of player form too).
For a long time, no one really cared about it since it was so far away and had relatively low prize money. It was only after 1983 when it started to really get taken seriously, after it moved to a bigger arena.
Bjorn Borg only ever entered it once, for example.

on other news,

FEDERER PERFECT IN GROUP PLAY; STORMS INTO SFS TO EDGE OUT SODERLING

http://www.barclaysatpworldtourfina...ondon-Thursday-Federer-Qualifies-For-SFs.aspx

he hasn't lost a single set in three matches.
he's now 15-1 against LaSod
he'll play against the 2nd of the other group, dodging (most likely) Rafa :nanner:

happy times for Fed-Fans... :glugglug:

So its 1 - Fed, 2 - Murray in one group, while in the other Nadal, Djokovic, Roddick and Berdych all have a chance to qualify or fall short.

Berdych defeats Nadal in 2 sets and Djokovic defeats Roddick in 2 sets = Djokovic Wins Group and Berdych Qualifies 2nd.

Berdych defeats Nadal in 2 sets and Djokovic defeats Roddick in 3 sets = Berdych Wins Group and Nadal Qualifies 2nd.

Most likely: 1 - Nadal, 2 - Djokovic. Which leads to Nadal/Murray and Federer/Djokovic semis.
Hoping for a Fedal final, been waiting too long.

those are my guesses.

Roddick has the measure of Nole. Or at least they produce some very, very intense and aggressive matches ;)

go A-Rod!!

Epic match

Murray getting closer to finally breaking through, but still not quite there.
Nadal wobbly but pulled it out in the end.
Halfway to a Fedal final...

If Fed/Djok is half as good as this, it will be great :nanner:

finally, is here...

Roger and Rafa in the final of the World Tour Finals 2010

:nanner:

it's the first time they played each other in the Year-end championship. For rafa, is his first final, and for roger, his sixth.

oh, by the way, Roger beat Nole in straight, with a superb 1st set and a fight-2nd. He's now 13-6, 3rd win in a row, 4 of the last 5.

Nole looked a little bit tired (doesn't he always?? :dunno:) and Roger is playing very, very, very good. Quick, accurate, powerful.

My prediction?
Rafa is coming from a 3-hour-11-minutes battle and in less than 24 hours will face the best player in the world in the last 4 months. Third match in three days for him.
Roger is rested (today was no battle and yesterday didn't play) and playing very good.
The surface is better for... both. Rafa is playing as good as if he were on grass

I pick Roger, but of course, it doesn't really matter (that much, at least) the outcome, the whole world just want to see them together in court!

Flawless Federer Faces Defiant Nadal in “Fedal” 22; Who’s the Pick?

http://www.tennis-x.com/xblog/2010-11-27/5812.php

I picked Federer to win this event at the start and even in the face of confident No. 1 Nadal, I’ll stand by him here. I know Nadal has the dominated the head-to-head (especially on break chances) but indoors makes a difference

go Roger!!! ;)
