Adje Nole!
Played great all tournament, including the final. Straight setted the 6th, 2nd and 5th seed to finish it off.
He got a little shaky near the end but held it together.
Murray passive again in the first two sets, the only aggressive shot he had seemed to be the stretched running CC forehand.
Andy now has the unfortunate record of losing his first 9 straight GS final sets. He must be feeling low, but at least he is friendly with Djokovic.

Djokovic no longer a 'one slam wonder', congrats :hatsoff:

Congratulations Djokovic, you are back, we needed you.

no, we all Fedal fans don't.

but yes, he completely deserved to win. He's NOW the best player of the world over Roger and Rafa, without a doubt. His quickness and accuracy are awesome. His concentration as well. If he continues to play like that, i don't think anyone can stop him in Indian Wells and Miami.

I love how Murray always sinks in gran slam great moments.

same here ;)

i just love seeing his mom not-yelling and not making fool of herself.

i used to think that Murray's major win was a matter of time, now i have my doubts... he won't get over Roger/Rafa/Nole, and expect that those three won't make it to a major final is almost hopeles...

fine pieces of asses!!! :angels:

this week the action continues with 3 ATP 250 tournaments (projected SFs):

Zagreb
Cilic vs Gasquet
Garcia-Lopez vs Ljubicic

Johannesburg
Feliciano Lopez vs Kevin Anderson
Tipsarević vs Lu

Santiago
Nalbandian vs Chela
Belluci vs Monaco

All i want for these three is that Nalbandian won in Chile, so he can get himself together after Oz...

the ATP Rankings this weeks tell us that:

- the gap between no. 1 (rafa) and no. 2 (roger) is staggering: 4.425 points. Of course, Rafa will defend A TON of points from Montecarlo to Wimbledon, and Roger almost nothing. But still, it's too much, and it will be need a good roger performance (that is: winning wimbledon and get into Roland Garros final, and make at least SF in the clay masters 1000) and a letdown from Rafa (that is: winning only Roland Garros and one or two Masters 1000 in clay)

- Nole is very very close of Roger (85 points). The race for no.1 is now between three horses.

- Ferrer is only 1.200 points behind Murray... watch out Andy, you can fall to no. 6 or 7 in no time, specially on the upcoming clay season

- Melzer is now a top-10. And is very close to the no. 8 spot. Don't expect him to choke.

- Verdasco is still a top-10. Talk about injustice...

- Wawrinka is no. 14, his highest ranking in two years. I expect he continues to climb to the top-10

- Tsonga is no. 18, his lowest ranking in two years... still with the injury argument, messie?

- Cilic is no. 20, his lowest ranking in two years... so much for the "new Delpo"...

- Dolgopolov climbed 14 spots (no. 32) and he will be a top-20 soon...

- good ol' Kolya is no. 35, his lowest ranking since Oct 2004. Ouch.

- Hewitt is no. 68... so much for the "comeback". He should have retired a couple years ago.

- Delpo is now no. 485 :( * sighs *

- Fernando Gonzales is no. 97, his lowest ranking... in 9 years!!!

Dont forget the biggest mover, Milos Raonic. Moved up 58 places to 94 in the world
He has been moving up the ranking for a while now, and the AO gave him a boost into the top 100 at 20 years, 1 and a bit months old. I think Dimitrov is the only one younger than him in that position.
He has a huge serve, evidenced by him leading the AO in ace count (94 in 4 matches) and fastest serve at 230 kmh. Even with that heat, his slice serve is supposed to be his best one.
He beat Llodra and Youzhny and took a set off Ferrer, which shows he can handle top players.
Future top 20, hmmm?

Seeds no. 2 (Lu) and no. 5 (Serra) lost in South Africa

http://thestar.com.my/sports/story.asp?file=/2011/2/1/sports/20110201211022&sec=sports

Jesus! there is a tournament where Lu is the no. 2 seed ???

that's one tournament i WOULDN'T go...

in fact, in the bottom half of that draw, there's NOT A SINGLE player who has won a tournament before... that's a huge opportunity for Tipsarević and Raonic himself.

There are challengers much more competitive. But you have to host an ATP tournament in Africa in the south hemisphere (Casablanca tournament is not bad because is very close to Spain), it's the only way to call it ATP WORLD Tour. But the tournament is alone, not like the asian tournaments, who is gonna travel there for one only tournament?

Looks almost like it has the budget of a challenger from the webcast. One fixed baseline camera and small arena. I guess it would look better if there were more camera angles to show off the place.
Tipsarevic just lost to Huta Galung 7-6 4-6 6-7, so the road clears more for Mighty Milos
That is if he wins his next match against Simon Greul...
