Ha ha ha, women's semis, everything was done in pretty much two hours.

Stosur's gonna win this on Saturday...advance Australia fair!

I was hoping for a Dementieva-Jankovic
So sad Dementieva had her injury...

I couldn't see but the result (6-1, 6-2) speaks by itself.
Stosur will have to fight harder against Schiavone 'cause she is from the kind wich never give up...
Vai Francesca !!!

Whats so bad about Rezaï? Besides her gold outfit...
Her style is simple and boring: hit the ball as strong as she can

sorry for the absence in the thread, fellas... been travelin' ;)

you and me, mate :(

now, i couldn't care less about that women's final... i mean, i had a lot of girls i wanted to see in the second sunday (williamses, kuzzie, wozzie, henin, klijsters, sharapova), and no one made it :(

For the men's semis tomorrow, Rafa should win in four, and Robin in straight.
Then, sunday, i don't think Rafa could get trough the "Soderling formula"

go, Robin, go! :thefinger

Why should Nadal drop a set to Melzer? Did you see his break point conversion rate against Djokovic?

4/24 or 17% :rofl2:

Berdych is playing well too, and Soderling plays a high risk game, even though its working at the moment.
I thought he would be more likely to take more than 3, although he should still win.

Oh, and welcome back :wave2: :D

I just want any Aussie to win. I love the Aussies. They are one of the first on my list of cultures' I respect most outside of my own (Aussies, Spanish, Irish, Japanese, among others). She will be a legend if she wins tomorrow. :hatsoff:

Nadal had better not repeat the 3rd set *hiccup* he had against Melzer when he plays Soderling :uohs:
His short returns are still a weakness, they will right in Sods hitting zone.
Too many aces in the Berdych-Soderling match, booo, got a bit annoying sometimes.

Cant wait for the final :hatsoff:

Nadal hiccup? Wut? He has steamrolled and battered all his opponents thus far

Soderling is the one that better tighten up his game. 62 unforced errors, 5 sets...

That ain't gonna fly against a Nadal who can actually stand up on two legs this time..:thefinger

Soderling is going to get pummeled Sunday....

He went to sleep near the end  it shouldnt have gone to a tie-break :nono:

Soderling was still pretty much even on winners/unforced errors, thats how he has played throughout the tournament.
He had 49 UE's in 4 sets against Federer and and won. Take lots of risks, make enough to win is his strategy.

Melzer did our country proud, hope he can keep it up for the rest of the season.

Should be a good final and mayb Söderling can pull it off, but more importantly I hope Stosur wins tomorrow.

Laura Robson (is she English or Aussie?) retracted a comment where she called her fellow pros "sluts" :rofl2:

Someone's jealous she isn't getting any dates and sex ;)

She is an Australian born Brit. So therefore not English or Australian.

I fail to see the problem with her comment, it shows she has an opinion which she is not afraid to express as well as having high moral standards.

You're not really going to get away with calling your fellow competitors sluts though...I'm sure she is a locker room favourite now

Womens predictions?

I think 6-3 6-3 Stosur

Laura's comments were uncalled for. It's none of her business what other people do in their personal lives.

On the other hand, she doesn't need to be a locker room favorite. Sharapova and the Williams brothers are doing quite well being unpopular amongst their fellow players.

:yesyes: Bet placed. Somehow the odds against Serena were more in my favor.

Schiavone can thank the draw for her appearance in the final. Nadia kicked out Venus in a tough match. Then Nadia was exhausted and lost a tough match against Dementieva that took its toll on Elena's hamstring.

Sammy all the way!

Schaivo played well, Stosur didnt really.
How can someone who was number 1 in doubles play such terrible volleys?
Seemed a bit strange how she never got to handling the serve very well too.

Congratulazioni Francesca :hatsoff:

What's the difference between British and English? :dunno:

The British seem to be a bit fussy with nationalism. Only Englishmen/women are born in England. But Jumbo seems to say she is no longer English because she also has Aussie citizenship (and lives there now) ? :dunno:

Sam looked inhibited and nervous. Apparently couldn't handle the pressure.

History was written. We have the ugliest Grand Slam winner ever.

I think the bigger problem is we are unlikely to ever hear from Schiavone ever again. The French seems to crown obscure champs who we never hear from again...(Nadal excepted of course ;) )
