Why isn't Soccer popular in America?

Soccer is not popular in America:
1. There are many competitions from other sports to soccer.
2. Lack of promotions of soccer like soccer academies, youth soccer programs and soccer competitions at grass root level.
3. Lack of support and sponsors from government of USA and private sectors in the development of soccer in USA.
4. Difficult to play soccer in USA like traveling to a far place to play soccer, accessories like ball and trousers are expensive and soccer club fees is very high.

I think as Americans, we don't favor the soccer for a few reasons...

1.) We like things our friends and neighbors like (and hate the things they hate!)
2.) Our attention spans aren't exactly vast
3.) Soccer lacks in toughness and testosterone
4.) If you're anything like me and played rec soccer as a kid you got hit in the face one too many times with a soccer ball and decided it wasn't the game for you.

This debate has been going on for years now! Do people realize that finally the U.S.A. has the MLS and that every year that goes by Soccer has been growing to a point that allot of the USA National team players actually play in Europe! Soccer fans just need to let Soccer take its course & soon enough it will catch on.
