Basketball and Football do require alot of endurance but it's nothing like soccer because in soccer you don't have any stoppage of play to catch your breath and you are covering more ground as a soccer player than you are a football player or basketball player. In both Basketball and Football you have coaches timeouts and TV timeouts and in the case of Football there is alot of waiting around in between plays plus there is a TV timeout after every field goal, kickoff, punt return and injury, it's ridiculous with the TV timeouts. So in those two sports there are times where you can take it easy and get a breather.

Imagine being an NFL owner. It's gotta be a lucrative gig with all that filler rat shit, not to mention all the endless drones who won't hesitate a second to fly out to the Team Shop to pick up a Favre jersey (best seller) the second it is announced he is going to another team. $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

Football is overloaded with lard asses. Basketball has its share, and baseball has a lot of guys that clearly overweight. You are right, if you are not physically fit, one-hundred percent, you don't stand a chance in the game.

For some reason it was maybe the funnest sport to play though, and hockey, well, the coaches always beat the shit out of us in the practices because that really is a sport that requires quite a bit of endurance as well. I think it was Roenick who said he lost like 8 pounds in one game or something like that back when he was still in the league.

i enjoy hockey. its similar to soccor, on ice, with fights. im glad they got rid of the offside rule. Now we just need FIFA to get rid of that shit as well :D

Are you talking about the red line or the tag up rule? Both were gayness at its finest. That was never an issue growing up in the hockey hotbed of America for all my teams. Those rules were just so unnatrual to me, and it pained me to see that shit in the NHL.

Three years ago I would have defended football (soccer) until I was blue in the face but now I can't. It's become a boring (and expensive) game to watch, killed by coaches who now adopt a negative approach to games purely because they HAVE to win the next game or the fickle fans and owners call for their heads.

Me personally...I ditched football (soccer) for rugby league a year ago. It's hugely entertaining, the atmosphere at games has to be experienced to be believed, it's a working class sport therefore extremely affordable and the players are the some of the toughest bastards you'll ever come across. Unfortunately it's only popular in Australia, a very small pocket of the UK and a few regions in France and will never catch on in any other parts of the world.

I infrequently watch the NFL on tv over here and find it very entertaining but I think I'm in the minority...I just think football (soccer) isn't popular in America purely down to culture and how people are brought up.

America's national games are and always will be football and baseball, same as our national game will always be football (soccer), same as the Aussies will always be cricket and so on and so forth.

As a footnote, I have and always will think that cricket is the most boring, pointless game known to man. I'd rather take a dump in my own face than sit through 5 days of a game that may or may not end up in a draw.

I love the NFL, NBA, and MLB and I could never see myself ditching those sports leagues and switching my allegiance to a rugby league or something like that. The NFL could go into a lockout next year but I will still be a football fan lockout or no lockout. I grew up watching these sports so it would be extremely difficult to just abandon them.

Exactly. Why do people give a shit about what it's called?
You nerds do way too much crying about America's view on your precious sport. If you're such a big fan then you shouldn't care what outsiders think. What are ya? Posers?

They prefer American Football because of all the breaks. Players can rest their fat asses every 10 seconds, and spectators can take that time to use their tiny brains to compute what they just saw.
