TNA iMPACT! Cuts, Hulk Hogan As TNA World Champion?

The UK airing of iMPACT! was edited down to 2 hours, and one of the things cut was Hogan's opening sequence. This meant he said nothing about being in the back all day, which changed the dynamic of his speech.

Fanhouse.com are echoing the sentiments of many TNA detractors, with a writer predicting that Hogan will be TNA champion soon and being less than complimentary about the comeback in general.

if they do that then they will probably alienate 95% of their audience.
wrestling fans aren't stupid, give us good matches, real good storylines, and the occasional "holy Shit!" moment plus dont keep giving the Championships to the same guys,FUCK, give other guys a shot and let them run with it and see what happens. this is the reason the Seamus champ thing works....
ITS NOT HHH OR CENA so its something different and refreshing.
leave the belt with AJ he can carry the company the same way RVD did with ECW and the TV title for well over a year.

um...i think i just crossed threads.

Sting's Backstage Reaction To Ric Flair In TNA

-- Ric Flair recently stated in the Charleston Post & Courier that he reunited with longtime friend Sting upon arriving backstage in Orlando at the iMPACT! tapings. The two shared a hug and Sting told Flair that he was the reason he will be staying in TNA.

-- For the current TV season, the USA Network with WWE's RAW is in 99.08 million homes, SyFy with ECW is in 96.37 million homes and WGN America with WWE's Superstars is in 72.43 million homes. Spike TV, airing TNA's iMPACT, is in roughly the same exact number of homes as the USA Network.

Abyss Comments On The Future Of TNA, Styles, & Hogan

IGN has an interview up with Abyss where he talks about the need to prove yourself to the new regime, among other topics...

"You know, I do. I think that the day that you quit challenging yourself and the day that you're satisfied with what you're doing, no matter what you're doing – whether it's wrestling or something else – the day you feel like you feel like you've done all you can do and you've reached the pinnacle, that's the day you start going downhill. I think with Hulk being there, I think one of the things it's going to do is challenge everybody to raise their game to the next level and raise the bar on their own performances. Across the board. Whether you've been with TNA since the beginning like I have or like AJ Styles has. Or if it's a newer guy that hasn't been there as long. I think everybody's going to be challenged to compete. And that's how it should be. Now matter how long you've been there you're constantly trying to prove yourself with every performance that you give. I think that's the way it needs to be."

Report: Scott Hall Pushing For Sid Vicious To TNA

TNA returnee Scott Hall is pushing company officials to hire his friend, Sid Eudy (a/k/a Sid Vicious).

The two apparently became real close friends in the past year as just before his return to the organization, Hall had been working on the independent circuit with the multi-time world champion. Furthermore, Sid's son Gunnar made his wrestling debut alongside Hall this past summer in a tag match. There were also videos posted online of the duo "shooting" on the wrestling business.

It's also interesting to note that the TNA logo was recently posted on Sid's MySpace page. There is also expected to be a major surprise at Genesis this Sunday night. Could this be it? Stay tuned!

January 14, 2010 Impact Report: Angelina Love Returns!

On the January 14, 2010 episode of Impact, Angelina Love made her much anticipated return to TNA, and ODB vs. Tara in a 2 out of 3 Falls Match was booked for TNA “Genesis.”

Newly crowned TNA Knockout Tag Team champions Awesome Kong & Hamada made short work of Velvet Sky & Madison Rayne, after Awesome Kong hit her power-bomb finish on Madison Rayne (great to see the Awesome Bomb back on television). This of course was nothing like last week’s amazing Knockout tag team championship match. Velvet Sky’s weaknesses were on full display in this outing.

The match itself was a platform for Angelina’s return, who sat in the front row, and hugged Velvet Sky and Madison Rayne before the match. A reluctant Lacey was introduced to Angelina. After the match, Angelina entered the ring, in what at first seemed like concern for the fallen Madison Rayne. Angelina; however, attacked both Lacey and Velvet, and was furious about being “replaced.” It was great to see Angelina back, however, this could have been executed better.

Hulk Hogan Pissed Off At Bobby Lashley?

Josh Gross, who is with Sports Illustrated, posted this on his Twitter feed (http://twitter.com/SI_JoshGross): Hogan mentioned, rather seriously, he plans on having a conversation with Bobby Lashley Sunday to discuss Lashley's pro wrestling future. Hogan's quote after I inquired about Lashley working 4 TNA: "He's gotta make a choice, brother. We need to have a serious talk, He can [do MMA and pro wrestle] but he just needs to be a businessman about it. You can't stiff us just because you have to train for a fight. You can't put [Strikeforce] ahead of us; that's not going to work me. I'm going to fix that real quick. That's going to happen Sunday. I'm going to see what he's made of because I've been around too long to have someone like him to do business with"

Hulk Hogan: Meetings w/ AJ Styles

Making AJ Styles a mainstream name: "You can go out there and have 5-star matches all day long. And I love A.J. Styles to death, don't get me wrong. But Arn Anderson, Tully Blanchard, Jack Briscoe, Harley Race, A.J. Styles all gave 5-star matches and now (holds hand up to head) this is the water level now. When the water level rises and TNA is the number one sports entertainment company in the world, if you keep having those 5-star matches like that and you don't do the cross-over media and we don't have (Jay) Leno or Regis (Philbin) calling A.J. Styles instead of me then people that are having those crazy, unbelievable off-the-chart matches are going to be mid-card at best."

Meetings w/ AJ Styles: "I had a couple long talks with him and he's got it, bro. He really does. That whole A.J. Styles character – if you just have to put bit of an edge on it and ramp it up. I want everyone to know who he is and not just 75 percent of the people or maybe half of the people. Those matches have a great place, but those matches - those 5-star matches combined with breathing life into the characters will just be the icing on the cake. But you have to have that."

Hogan has a bit of a point there. Lashley can't treat wrestling like something to do when he isn't competing in MMA. He has to treat both things equally, otherwise he's just going to get in shit. Course, then he'll end up in MMA alone, but then where would he get those sweet between-fight paychecks?

TNA was fine with the agreement before Hogan. That's the way it should stay. Because they knew what Lashley thought and wanted before they signed him.

Report: WWE Still Wanted Jeff Hardy After TNA Return

When Jeff Hardy made an on-air return to TNA even with news that he had been indicted on drug related charges, many initially assumed that the two were directly related.

Some speculated that because WWE would not want to use a wrestler in the wake of a public indictment, Hardy's only real option was TNA, any interest he had in the company was amplified.

According to a source, however, the idea that WWE did not want Hardy could not be further from the truth. Sources say WWE officials were in constant contact with Jeff Hardy on January 5th with the hope that he would change his mind and return to WWE.

WWE's apparent interest in overlooking the PR backlash of bringing Hardy back is being taken by some as an indication that the company is not totally writing TNA off as irrelevant. If the company believed Hardy working for TNA posed absolutely no threat, its willingness to subject the company and Linda McMahon's political campaign to media heat would not have existed.
