^^ everybody lost today & what if USC gets knocked off tonight...
I hope Washington wins so they can flip this shit upside down and piss everybody off. :1orglaugh

My new top 10, week 5, in which 5 of the top ten lost:

# 1A. USC (5-0) - They beat an up-and-coming Washington Huskies team, but they couldn't put them away... I'll keep them at the top spot until they lose a game.

# 1B. LSU (5-0) - The Tigers didn't look great. Then the 2nd quarter started. I wouldn't be surprised if LSU is #1 in real polls, but in Mine, they are tied for the top spot.

# 3. California (5-0) - First benefactor of other teams ahead of them losing. The Bears pulled one out in Eugene.

# 4. Ohio State (5-0) - Quietly moving up.

# 5. Florida (4-1) - Ran out of time against Auburn; still an impressive squad despite getting their first loss.

# 6. Wisconsin 5-0
# 7. Oklahoma 4-1
# 8. Boston College 5-0
# 9. Kentucky 5-0
#10. Oregon 4-1

Dropping out: West Virginia and Texas; it's the way they lost... not even close in their losses

Still undefeated: South Florida (My new fave), Hawaii, Cincinnati

Still defeated:
Notre Dame

No idea what's up with their season: Penn State, Clemson, Alabama.

What an awesome Saturday!

I think USC will and should be ranked #1 still. Every team deserves to survive a scare without losing their place. LSU played a nobody at home. Their big game is next week. If SC looks shaky next week and LSU wins, then, yeah, it's time to flip them. I'll cut USC some slack because they lost 2 OL (Center!) on the same play and somehow won the game. Half of those penalties will be cleaned up next week...and some of those Pass Interference calls in the 4th Qtr against SC were horrific...to say the least. USC has no long pass attack. I blame Booty more then the WRs. I think Booty is a bust. He simply has no accuracy beyond 15 yrds. Booty threw a lot of high school shit passes that any decent Div1 QB would make. How can someone consistently overthrow 6'5" WRs and continue to get passes batted down at the LOS. He had 3 today, I believe...again :dunno:

You can't keep FLorida in the Top 5. They lost to an unranked team. They're maybe #10. You need to move Wisconsin, BC, and move Oregon to #7. Get rid of Oklahoma from the Top10.

An incredibly exciting day of College football...WHO NEEDS A PLAYOFF!

^^about Florida:
I don't believe you can move teams up and down solely upon who they lost to. It should be more about how they matchup against the teams they're surrounded by. Going by today they can't be that far behind these other teams. I by no means am a ncaa football buff so i can't say who has the better qualities on each squad but i'm addressing your quote
"You can't keep Florida in the Top 5. They lost to an unranked team"

and days like this is exactly why they need a fuckin playoff system. Look at the teams who lost and won. *USF* A team like South Florida should get the chance to really prove themselves against say USC in the first rd of a playoff. If they fuck around and knock them off, then you'll see what USC is really worth or how good South Florida really is. However, USF won't get the chance to earn a shot at the National Championship, which is bullshit. They're pretty much playing for next seasons' team.

Unfortunately Slik...I got you on this one. For one thing..what are you talking about (Bold)? The polls are supposed to take into account how teams rank against each other. The #9 team should beat the #10 everytime, albeit by 1 point, but still, #9 is supposed to be better then #10, for example.

If you look at the games..you'll see that Florida lost at home to a 2 loss team. They played a terrible game coupled with Auburn playing the best game of their lives. Auburn hung an L on Florida last year. Florida should've won this one on revenge alone. They trailed for all of it except for tying it a little into the 4th qtr.

Oklahoma lost on the road...to a 2-2 Colorado team where they atleast had a 24-7 lead before they choked it away.

Texas got destroyed at home by a better then on-paper KState team (KState lost to Auburn earlier in the season). Texas embarrassed itself today.

Oregon #10 lost to #6 Cal. Oregon was at home. THis was an even matched game where Oregon may have lost on a fluke fumble. I didnt see the game.

Based on the losses by the teams above it...Cal AND Oregon should move up.

Ohio State is quietly slipping up the charts like a stealth bomber. They might be the true balanced team in the nation.

there should be no talk of who number one is. usc already had it prior to saturday. but with lsu's bad first half, its outright. usc is #1.

look at SatyrIcons poll...

my point is a team shouldn't drop down the rankings solely because of who they lost to. For example, Florida lost to Auburn. But they shouldn't fall below Oklahoma, Wisconsin or BC just because they fucked up and lost to Auburn. If Florida can still beat those 3 afore mentioned teams then they need to be ranked ahead of them.

But you said,
"Florida shouldn't be there because they lost to an unranked team".
as if that alone is enough to make Florida fall out of the top 10.

OFFICIAL AP Top Ten Week 5

1. LSU - After USC's lackluster wins, I can see it... and I love USC!

2. USC - Trojans really need to get their passing attack on track.
3. Cal - Big victory in vs Oregon = jump in rankings.
4. Ohio State - The Silent Assassin.
5. Wisconsin - Slid in to 5th after others slid out of top 10.

6. South Florida - WOW! The Bulls took out #5 WVU...and get into top 10; they just made it into the poll for the first time two weeks ago!
7. Boston College - Strong team representing the NE.
8. Kentucky - One of those teams where the offense is fun to watch...
9. Florida - HUGE drop in rankings...
10. Oklahoma - Was considered the more well rounded of the top 4 last week...now 10th...

Suck it, chicken worshippers!

TheSatyrIcon! lackluster win? so being barely up on Tulane in the state of Louisiana means something? C'mon It's Tulane!

And as far as Florida is concerned.....Auburn is a physical defensive TEAM.those URBANITES can not beat that........Just ask Tebownes how he feels after going 0-2 vs the AUBURN TIGERS!

I know his name is Tebow.he still is not that great.pure system qb
ask Alex Smith what Urban did for him. And actually does anyone remember Klingler or Ware.that Houston system looks alot like this MEYER bs

Lackluster win? Well...yes, since USC played Washington AND that's who's win I was referring to as lackluster; the Trojans were at least 2 TD faves despite going to Washington. The Huskies looked as impressive as the Trojans looked messy (so many mistakes) - still, USC could not shake the Huskies because Washington were making plays of their own; I fully expect UofW back in the polls soon with their talent and coaching.

LSU was the school that played Tulane, and dropped 24 unanswered on them in the 2nd half. I gave the Tigers huge props in My weekly rankings; moving them up from 2 to a tie for first place in My personal poll. Mentioning that Tulane is from Louisiana is moot because the Green Wave was playing... Louisiana State in Louisiana state. LOL.

I'm watching all of USC's games and as much as I love them, they didn't play well, and I can say it. Saturday was NOT the night to play poorly, not with so many teams losing; change was in the air and it showed on the field (5 of the top 10 losing, 7 of the top 13) and in the polls.

WOW.so playing Tulane in your home state equates to not covering the spread in the state of Washington in your own conference? go freaking figure!

Satyr you do realize that Tulane has been terrible this year. The week before, they barely manged to beat 1AA SELU (Southeastern Louisiana). I watched a good bit of the LSU-Tulane game and came away unimpressed with the way LSU played compared to the rest of their games.
