No it's not. It's a law on the books, but it's not enforced (there's a tonne of those). It actually can't be thanks to the Supreme Court and Lawrence v. Texas. Sodomy laws, and most laws which pertain to consensual sexual relations, were deemed unconstitutional almost precisely one decade ago. So it's legal everywhere in the United States.

Phew! Good thing. It's supposedly illegal in Florida too, which would mean that when I visited Tampa, I broke that law numerous times.

There are all kinds of odd laws that exist. Such as it is illegal to harpoon a whale from your car in California. No shit. Who knows why these laws exist, and who knows how they'll get enforced or whatever. Sometimes I just wonder if lawmakers are just trying to take the mickey out on people.

However, in Ontario, where I did some of my growing up, it was passed that women are allowed to be topless, and periodically women avail themselves of that right. Some people are offended, some are amused, others are horrified. I have to say, I'm mixed on this. While I fully support the rights of women to wear what they want, and I don't want any ridiculous laws passed that allow men to be topless and not women, if I'm walking down the street with my five year old and there are boobs hanging out, it's going to require a lot of conversations. I'm not saying that's a bad thing, and I am trying to raise my kids with a healthy respect for the human body, and all that.

meh. I don't know where I'm going with this. When kids and nudity are put in the same place, it's just something to think about. I'm constantly reminded that we have created these taboos about the human body and about sex that are learned, not inherent. My five year old has absolutely no compunction about being nude in front of people. We go to a friends' pool almost every day, he'll change into his swimsuit there. No fear, nothing to be ashamed of, just a natural thing. And that's right. However, my 12 year old daughters, if they did the same thing...wow I'd be uncomfortable with that. Is that a failing on my part? I'm trying to teach a healthy body image with appropriate discretion. There's a fine line, and I feel it's so easy a thing for me to fuck up, because think about the societal pressures that teen age girls are already feeling.

Someone please invent an instruction manual for children that takes you through the 21st year.

And is precisely why the laws aren't prosecuted. Technically the states could, and the SCOTUS might not rule on it again but most states keep the laws on the books just for the hell of it.

Haha I'm not quite that daring.

So, if I understand this correctly what you're saying is that this will require some beer. ;)

Phew! Good thing. It's supposedly illegal in Florida too, which would mean that when I visited Tampa, I broke that law numerous times.

Did you time travel back to May 2003 during your vacation? Because it was decided that sodomy laws were unconstitutional in June of that year. I'm guess no with the whole time traveling thing... unless you were using a flux capacitor as a sex toy. Nah, couldn't happen... where would you have gotten the plutonium? Also, I doubt you'd want 1.21 jiggawatts of power surging around down there! And why would you be going 88mph while all this was happening!? Yeah, none of this makes any sense. So you're cool I'm sure. :dunno:

those laws are on the books 100% absolutely entirely because of religious dickheads wrote those laws. those laws are 100% absolutely written by religious meat heads and intended for gays.

how is it even possible that such laws still exist today?

sorry deep cover, would never happen. If we met in person this pussy wouldn't say shit to me the way he has said it here. That's the nature of a coward. I'm good with that, it's to be expected.

Really?

Idk...still sounds like love to me. I'd actually be shocked if I saw you two in public enjoying a nice falafel meal together. I'd be like "Wow there actually is a freaking God" haha

Or how about the hundreds of millions of people who are persecuted against because fuck religion or atheism, humans are just douchebags who will use whatever justification they can in order to have power?

High five!!! Yes. Fuck falafels.

And yes Happy, topless in the middle of public will require some beer. Tonight I've got a good start, had 4... or 5... already, so I'm on a good way there.

Falafel is bullshit! Why take a perfectly healthy food like chick peas and ruin it by frying?

Anyway, this thread is always going to be a big argument. Nobody will ever convince anyone else to change their mind on religion. So why bother with it?

Falafel isn't my favorite. I can count on one hand how many times I've eaten it..actually, 1 finger.

I much rather have a turkish pizza.

Boy, why all the hate on falafel? It's really not that bad a dish if it's prepared well, and if you're concerned about calories and/or fat, you can always bake them instead of frying them.

Because... why would I get a weird falafel when I can get a hot dog, chicken salad, cheeseburger, taco, sub, or slice of pizza? Falafels are just... bleh. My boyfriend is constantly trying to get me to try all these weird NY foods, and falafels have been one of them. I'm just like... "Why? How about that slice of pizza on the warmer next to it?"

This was not started to even attempt to debate the issue.

I honestly don't even want to read a thread again on this topic unless it is started by either bobjustbob, jagger or rattrap.

this chick not only rides the short bus, she also starts licking the windows.
