I'd like to thank everyone who voted, not just for me, but for any in this thread, it's a cool idea and I'm glad I could have some fun with it.

Since this is my first time posting in this thread, I hope I'm following the rules to the letter. I understand that we can start nominations for POTW today, correct? Please let me know if I'm doing this incorrectly, y'all. I haven't participated much in this thread due to some early confusion on what to do and how to do it.
If I AM proceeding correctly, I want to nominate alexios_hellas for this post from the middle of last week:

Not only was it posted up as a favor to me in order to spark a separate debate, but alexios wrote a MASTERPIECE. This was a wonderfully written piece; incredibly well thought out and executed.
As I mentioned in my reply in that thread, I was a fence rider. His post - the sheer eloquence of his words and the facts therein - caused me to see the situation in a different light.
^THAT^ alone is reason enough for a nomination AND a win as Post Of The Week. :hatsoff:

One problem with that post,it's dated the 25th and this week nominations started on the 26th.So sorry to say it can't be included,it fell into last weeks days.
This is why I say you can nominate 2 posts and like I've stated before,get in a early nomination.Then if someone post a great post on the saturday before closing you can still get it nominated.

Y'know, poggy ... I'm not trying to argue semantics on this issue with you, but ya know, you REALLY need to truly clarify the rules on this thing. You and i have already settled it about my inquiry ... no need to keep punching the point home, man. I acquiesed and now I understand what you meant about MY nomination. No problems there ... however, the way you have it worded in the very first post of THIS thread can be interpreted MANY different ways, hence, MY initial confusion. The post is vague at best and leaves room for mistakes such as mine.
Now, as for dickdenice's post, I think you should go back and read THAT post again. He didn't nominate the damned thing. He said - and I quote verbatim - "This is one of the most remarkably researched piece of post. Should get nominated for the post of the week when the time comes."
Now ... how is it that you honestly and realistically agree that that was a nomination??? The guy didn't even NOMINATE the post ... he said it SHOULD be nominated ... that's a big damned difference, man. One is a thought, the other is an action.
When you make a post that states, "I nominate such and such for such and such.", THAT is a nomination. When you state, "I THINK it should be nominated." ... that is NOT a nomination. It's a move - a SUGGESTION - for someone to nominate it.

After all I'm not running this the same as MOTW for a few reasons and not announcing the winner till Tuesday for 2 more reasons.1.It's easier for me,2.By Tuesday MOTW congrats has calmed down and the two don't clash.
As for Dickdenice's post,it reads to me he's asking someone to nominate it and IMO he's nominating it himself that way.So as the manager of the thread I wouldn't allow it.Otherwise everyones going to start doing the same,are they not ?
