Honestly this is something I've been looking at for sometime. Not something I'm rushing into. I want to improve this, even more. I'm not trying to belittle the thread or take any of what it stands for off it. I love this thread for not only giving credit to great posts, members, but also for showing me good posts and threads I may have missed if it wasn't for this thread.
Like I've said above it really needs improving in ways of getting more nominations throughout the week and not just at the weekends. As that is exactly what has started to happen. Also I'm hoping that the relaxing of one or two rules and the increased number of nominations a member can make will
improve it. By bring in more nominations and promoting more members who aren't the regular crowd. In this way I can send them a PM and tell them they've been nominated and hopefully will get them involded more in the thread. Also showing old/present/new members alike that we promote and acknowledge good posting on this board. All this is good for the board IMO.
I know some of you don't know this and I hope they don't mind me saying so. But the mods even check on this thread quite a bit, as you see about BNF has made a little appearance in it wondering why it was going to be moved. I've even talked to other mods about it in PM over various things that have been nominated and posted in it. As they don't want to show favouritism to any members they avoid posting on the thread. Which is IMO quite understandable if you think about it.
Moving it to the games section will sort of nudge members memories it's there by been on the first page all the time. Not been buried 8 and 9 pages down getting forgotten about as is happening. Honestly I firmly believe it's suffering in the talk section and is been forgotten about.
This is a thread like FreeOnes Members Webcam Week I love working on and have a lot of time for. One of the reasons I post so much in a day is to try to nudge members memories about this thread with having the winner under my sig.
I've workout that about at least 10% of my 5000+ posts here at FO's is in this thread since I took over it.
Take a look at the new rules, that I've tried to make easier and make it more open...
This is a thread for nominating and voting on posts that have been made throughout the week on the FreeOnes board.
Any post can be nominated between the time period of Sunday to Saturday.
On Sunday I will open up a two day voting period to find the winner of POTW that week and announce the winner on Tuesday.
Each member is allowed to nominate upto 5 posts in one week.
When making a nomination, could you please try to put Nomination on it in bold to help me see it. Then the nomination link and name of poster and time and date of the post, thank you.
Now the reason I'm asking for the time and date of the post is this. Not everyone here lives in the same time zone. Before I was using GMT but this seemed to be confusing members so I thought that would better for everyone. With me closing the nominations on a Sunday morning GMT will mean everybody should be pasted midnight Saturday in their time zone.
Does this all make sense to everyone ?

May be I'm a thick-head, but it doesn't. The regular posters are few and it may not fare any better in the games section.

I think I speak from experience when I say that will not be the case (or my thread in the games section is so boring and unimportant that nobody besides the loyal posters (whom I want to thank btw) wants to post in it
). The loyal posters will keep posting and maybe a member that got lost (many of the members posting in the games section hardly ever visit the general talk section) will post in it, but since this thread isn't updated every day & because not everybody posts in it every day I fear it wil soon be forgotten. I'd personally prefer to see the PotW, MotW and SotW become stickied threads, but that's not up to me to decide.
Now something else...

First I'm not saying your thread is bad quite the oppersite. It's a excellent idea and thread. It really keeps us up to date on who's birthday it is in the adult entertainment world and modeling. But maybe the reason no one apart from one or two regular members post in your birthday thread is the same reason I don't. First theres not really much point saying happy birthday to people who aren't on the board. Second the members who are here often and post often end up with a thread for birthday greeting in the members section and most do that there instead.
So the threads are of total difference in content and topic.
You've also picked on another reason why it would be good in the games section. It may get some of the members who don't post in other sections of the board too...
1. Realise theres a lot going on in the other sections as well as the games section.
2. Also it will show them that members here are supporting good posting and giving each other a pat on the back for it.
3. That this board has a lot friendlier and more balanced group of members than anywhere else on other boards on the net.
4. If they've only come for games what are they doing here anyway. Lets be honest here, you don't goto a adult message board for games.
5. It might also get some of them lurkers to see they can post without fear of having mistakes and conflicting comments ripped apart. By bigheaded members who think there better than everyone else.
As I keep saying this isn't something I came up with overnight. If Seraphim was around he'd be able to tell you I've been thinking on what changes needed to be done to improve it. We had a long talk about his SOTW and my POTW threads about 6 or more weeks ago. This might come to a shock to some of you but he too was thinking of overhauling his SOTW contest and might have had he still been around at the moment.
It's failing in the talk section as it is. Many times in the last 3 or so months has there been very few posts nominated and most of them haven't been slow weeks. I have to post 5 even 6 times over the weekend to get people to nominate and then they are only picking posts posted on the Friday or Saturday. Members only seem to be picking the same old members over and over. I'm not saying there bad posts in fact it proves that a quality poster lasts and thinks about every post. But there still great posts been made by new and less frequent visitors to the board not been nominated which need to be.
I did at first think that it should be in the members section. But realised this would damage it even more as even less people would see it and be encouraged to join and post on it and the board.
I was hoping to have it up and running for this week but now it's getting too late for that.
I'm asking everyone to just have a little think about what I've said in these last posts and see if I'm right or not. If I'm wrong tell me why and what should be done as it's as much you members thread than mine. After like I keep saying I just manage it. But it's you members that have been letting it and yourselves down which has made me think about how I can improve it.

Okay. You are talking about a trial period. But its not right that no one came out with ideas. Day before yesterday I opposed the move, then Gordar expressed his views. And today you said that "I put there as no one got back to me". You could havr given a little more time.
BTW yesterday we were zonked out of sheer tiredness.

The time between that post and the one you've quoted off was just shy of 24 hours. I needed the new thread up for this week. But again it looks like I'm going to have to spam the thread to get members to nominate as it's now been nearly another 24 hours since it went up. In that time I've seen at least two posts that should have been nominated but haven't. This thread alone counts for about 10 - 15 posts a week for me. Take off the two nominating and voting posts and that leaves 8 to 13 posts on getting people to nominate and vote with the odd little judgement post thrown in each week.
As I keep saying your only letting yourselves down and the other members by not nominating during the week. A lot of good posts are getting missed and when I bump the thread up on a Saturday members only nominate post from that day or the Friday. What I'm I supposed to do, just have a one day nominating period covering only two days and a day of voting. I must admit I always thought a week was seven days long, after all it is called Post Of The Week!
Hey, sigmaster, which world do you move in? Definitely not dd's. His week is one minute long. Everything to be kept for the last minute.:rofl:
