lightning is a team that should be more then what they were.
penguins went beyond expectations without a first line basically.
lol. are u a fan of detroit? if so, are you a die hard fan?
that could be why it blows your mind.
its also annoying how the commentators dickride them. they are a good team. but jesus. you'd think they were married to the redwings.
on tsn and cbc its crazy. dont know about other channels.
how the hell was Guy Boucher NOT nominated for Coach of the Year? whether he would have won is moot, but you can't deny what he's done with the Lightning in his first season is nothing short of recognizable.
Vigneault? fine. Trotz? fine. Bylsma? really? why? because Crosby and Malkin were out? big fucking deal.
more than what they were? 46-25-11. 103 points on the season. 23 points better than last season. that's recognition worthy.
the Penguins are a good team and everybody knows that. just because Malkin and Crosby missed some time doesn't make Bylsma a brilliant coach
Yes injuries are just part of the game and the Pen's are still pretty deep. Coaching is the X factor and Bylsma could have done better.
ok tampa played the way they should have.
a team losing their top 2 stars is a BIG blow no matter what the team is.
coaching a team with this big of blow to the playoffs deserves an award.
You're such a homer it's laughable. The Lightning are stacked. Take Stamkos and St Louis off that team, make the playoffs and then maybe Boucher deserves recognition. And those guys dont even make close to the impact Crosby and Malkin have. Boucher took an under achieving team and brought them to a middle of the pack playoff team. Balysma lost two of the best players in the world and got his team into the playoffs with home ice advantage. Everybody on that team deserves every bit of recognition they get.
Also, you were just talking about how proud you are for the Lightning showing resiliency overcoming the 3-1 deficit against a good Pens team and you don't think Balysma deserves any credit for it? So it's no big deal they lost Crosby and Malkin, but it's a big deal the Lightning beat them? C'mon man. Aha, it's hard to take you Lightning fans seriously sometimes. You're so biased it's insane.
Done better????? How can you say this? They were 1 point away from 1st overall. Crosby, the best player in the game missed half the season. Malkin missed the entire season. Are you guys taking crazy pills. Please, take the two best players off every playoff team and tell me how they'd do.
I'm not saying Balysma deserves to win, but to think Boucher deserves more recognition for doing less with more talent in an easier division is fucking crazy.
and yet, Rick Tocchet and Barry Melrose couldn't get the Lightning to win. Guy Boucher deserves recognition for his work. and to say St. Louis and Stamkos don't even come close to having the impact that Crosby and Malkin have is absolutely the dumbest thing i've seen all day. over the past 3 years, Stamkos has more goals than Crosby. and St. Louis only averages .2 points per game fewer than him and way more than Malkin
look at Bruce Boudreau. he came in, got the Capitals winning and won the Jack Adams. Guy Boucher does the exact same thing and doesn't even get nominated. THAT is my point.
and i just said the Penguins are a good team, so yes, it was an accomplishment to beat them in the playoffs. they have more playoff experience and they did have home ice. and Malkin and Crosby weren't gone all year so your point is invalid.
