Jeez. Do young players hate Detroit or something? They aren't going to keep hitting the lottery with 5/6th round picks. Theyre going to need an infusion of youth to counter the old legs of some of these guys.

We have hit the lottery so many times; Datsyuk, Franzen, Lidstrom. Scouting deep, since we always draft late. Hull, Chelios, Robitaille have been proven older pickups. We do need to get younger I agree! Abdelkader, Howard, Filppula, Hudler are a solid core, but not star quality so far.

Hopefully that's not really gonna happen, we'd miss your insightful comments and posts. :D but if thats really what your gonna do, we'll leave the lights on for ya' for when you comeback. :glugglug:

I am gonna pose a question to the Vancouver fans, and then secondarily, canadian, and then the rest of the NHL fans can chime in.. What I would like to know, Were the Canucks fans in attendance of game 7 booing Buttman? the Bruins? or both? when he was presenting the post game hardware??? I couldn't necessarily tell who the were so avidly booing, any thoughts about this??? if they were booing Buttman I can understand and sympathize with them, (man I feel sorry for Gary Buttman) one of the most hated men in NHL Hockey.. :facepalm: If they were booing the Bruins that was pretty immature and classless IMO. the Bruins won it fair and square.

Another thought crossed my mind thinking about the aftermath of what the Canucks fans did, I am gonna say alcohol, Drugs and young people don't mix very well in large numbers, the British Columbia, Police and the Canadian State police (forgot there official title) should have banned all alcohol in that large zone where everybody gathered. only bad things can happen when things are not sealed as tightly and enforced properly as we witnessed last night.
:2 cents::eek:

Everyone always boos Bettman. He'll be booed this week at the draft in Minnesota as well.

Great parade yesterday in Boston, at least a million people filled the city to watch the Bruins return with the Cup.

They WERE boooing Bettman ... its only been done every year since the strike season of 95. but that was some of the loudest booing vs bettman in a long time, he was screaming to try to get out his little speil for the MVP trophy
the fans were also chanting GO HABS GO like that was going to make the bruins players mad or jealous or something. stupid canuck fans and stupid canadian people.
i dont think they were booing the bruins for winning maybe at the start but you get to witness the hoisting of the stanley cup live so that should make you not boo on principle!

Anybody here ever been to an NHL draft? I'm debating if I should go this coming weekend. About the only thing to do would be to get lit up downtown, but just for the hell of it I think I might go.

Maybe I'm just bitter, but I thought Chicago's parade last year was better.

i've gone to the NJdevils draft parties @ the Rock but never to the actual DRAFT. if it ever comes to the ROCK i will definitely go just to experience it.
but i had a friend who went to the NFL draft and he said its not that great cause you sit there with nothing to do between picks. other than possibly drinking and im not sure if the arena where the draft is held even sells booze.

FYI- the new features on NHL12 seem like it could make for one heck of a game!
