Quick question: going back game one of last season, Kyle Orton has started 14 regular season games and won only 3. At what point is it just time to say 'forget practice performance, and forget what we think Kyle Orton is, we've gotta make a change'. When is it time for Tebow?

How bad does Tebow have to be in practice to not only get stuck behind Orton, but Quinn too? At some point, he has to show he deserves to start. If he's not doing that, than I have to agree with the coaches.

Brady Quinn has already proven to be a bust in the NFL, the Browns didnt give up on him for no reason. Tim Tebow actually outplayed Brady Quinn in the pre-season, preseason only matters for the backups usually, and Tim Tebow played better...i have to think this is a John Fox vandetta against Tebow if he seriously Brady Quinn is backup material

Denver is just a bad team. And I feel sorry for orton because he is a good qb. He's just on a team that isn't good and with fans that want "the nice guy" to play.

Again.. at what point do you have to say 'fuck practice'? In the few games Tebow has played, he has played pretty well. Why is this fact is being ignored? Neither Sam Bradford or Matt Ryan or even Andy Dalton 'earned' the starting job. Starting QB jobs, like respect are given... not earned.

Exactly. How Quinn is still in the fuckin' league is beyond me, let alone 2nd string. Once again, the fact Tebow GROSSLY outplayed him in the preseason...

mysteriously ignored.

Why do people keep trying to tell me that Orton is a good QB? What evidence do you have of this? What has he done so damn good? In Chicago, he was mediocre, and in Denver he is the same statuesque, immobile, small play QB he seems to be. It's not all the defense. It's not all the O-line. He was not able to make big plays. I guaran-fucking-tee Tebow doesn't turn a 1st and goal into a 4th and 13 with a sack in the 4th quarter.

Bottom line: 3-14 under Orton. Jon Fox is used to letting the ship sink slowly. Ask yourself: If the QB from your favorite team had a 3-14 record since last season, how quick you be to pull him?

^^^^^^^

Hardcore Broncos fan, so I think I should shine some light on this topic.

If anyone saw my posts in last years thread know that I actually thought Kyle Orton was going to go to the pro-bowl, he was that good. His first year in Denver, I actually wanted Kyle Orton out. He couldn't move the offense and I didn't see any leadership quality. The next year it was like day-n-night. He was throwing the ball down the field and had a real command of the offense. Sure, there were a few game where he didn't look so good. But when you play with no run game, or a defense to back you up, a bad game or two is expected. Okay... he's not Payton Manning, but I don't think anyone expects him to be.

The Broncos didn't go 4-12 because of Kyle Orton. They went 4-12 because they had one of the worst defenses in the league, and no run game what-so-ever.

Why are you such an advocate of Tebow anyway? This is Denver, not Chicago. The coaching staff deems him unworthy and that's good enough for me.

It started years ago when Tim was in HS and I saw him play in AL while visiting my parents. My brother was playing on the other team, and Tim killed it out there. That night, the local sports news guy dissed him saying that he's no QB and would not be at UF for long. Tim wound up doing great... everything they dissed him for, he overcame by making big play after big play. He becomes arguably one of the best college QB's ever, just to hear that he can't play the position in the NFL. It was at that time I thought of the local AL sports guy, and said: How long is this kid just gonna keep getting hated on?

Now he's with Denver, and he gone from being hated on to just flat out ignored. Last year, after the starter only amassed 3 wins, Tim got his chance. When critics said he wouldn't throw for any TD's, he threw for 5. When Denver's running game failed, he ran for 6 TD's. When the team was down, he brought the team and fans the energy they needed. All he got for this is continued excuses and hate from the media, and after this preseason was passed up by someone he unquestionably outplayed.

Other than watching Tim for years, Kyle Orton being a former Bear, and hating being held back, I have no other vested interest in Denver's situation. I will say that Kyle in Denver reminds me of Jeff Garcia in Cleveland: You know he's good, he just doesn't really work for that team. I personally think that Tebow will work better for Denver than Orton because of big play potential and mobility. Tim Tebow just gets the damn job done. He always has. In his limited play, he kept the Denver Broncos in a position to win the game every time. I know he can play, he just needs the chance to do what he does.
