NFL '11 Season Thread

Don't say I didn't tell you. I said the difference will be the fact that the Bears don't just play good defense, THEY INFLICT PAIN AND CAUSE TURNOVERS. You saw it all on Sunday... fumble return for six, Tillman strip fumble on a good drive, Urlacher INT...

Peppers gets some of Ryan
Urlacher gets some of Ryan
Okoye gets some of Ryan
Melton gets some of Ryan

This is what the Bears do and people forgot, so they had to remind some of the haters. The part that nobody is talking about... the Bears putting up 30 points. All this includes not hearing from Briggs or Merriwether and a botched WIDE OPEN misdirection play in the red zone. Big game in N.O. next week, though. We will get to Brees also.

D-Rock it's important to Remember that given all of Stafford's injuries for a 3rd year player he has almost no experience so i expect him to be up and down a little this year.

Man i feel for the Rams if Bradford's hand injury is serious.
It was nice to the Redskins actually play well and i was surprised at how well Grossman did considering how many of those throws where high.

There are some mistakes that will be made because of inexperience or lack of great skill, and then there are blunders that aren't excusable by any quarterback that's past the level of high school football. Unfortunately, he seems to tend to have a a couple of the former a lot of games. A lot of times it's not something that will decide the game, but there will come points where it will matter if it keeps happening. I also think your downplaying his experience a bit. He hasn't missed THAT much time.

Fortunately, it's not something that uncorrectable like a lot of other things.

Da Bears are a good defence witth a ton of playmakers on offence but until that don't have that big " out of sync" meltdown like in past years I won't be sold. That's not sayin that I think you shouldn't fear them

Chiefs lose Eric Berry for the season, big blow to their defense..and esp. to their secondary where they will be lost without him.

The Chiefs have a defense? I thought that the only way to give up 41 points to the Buffalo Bills was to not have a defense on the field? Good luck with that.

:dunno:

And, just as a side note, only scoring 7 points against those same Buffalo Bills pretty much dictates that the Chiefs don't have an offense either.

its a good question, but Eric Berry was the only reason they arent worst than they are as is, hes a really good player, but he can only do so much on his own. Their offense was always anemic last season, they overpayed for a quarterback who only proved himself for one season, and theyre handcuffed by his contract.

No, I know. I'm just a Charger fan trying to get my jabs in. We haven't been able to talk trash after week 1 for years, so I'm just enjoying it.

Sabbi Piscatelli & Jon McGraw just aren't going to cut it for the Chiefs IMO. Just when our secondary was starting to look better. McGraw fits as a special-teamer but relying on him in the secondary is too much no matter if he's a good fella or not. :(
