NFL '09/'10 Season Thread

Call me crazy, but The Vikings are going to get exposed in the playoffs. Losses to Carolina, Arizona and Chicago proved that. Just wait until they play Dallas, Philly, New Orleans or even an improved Green Bay. This isn't the same Green Bay team that Minnesota swept earlier in the season. I don't understand how people can expect Super Bowl from those guys.

The Welker injury killed the Patriots chances of making it anywhere. Plus their road record is horrendous. You really think a Pats team without Welker can win in Indy AND San Diego? Because the AFC Championship surely runs through those two towns.

It will come down to Indy/San Diego - New Orleans/Dallas

You make great points, but as Pats fan I think they can plan better road ball even without Welker. I just don't think that San Diego can do anything in the playoff they always seem to fold for some odd reason. As for the Vikings I think the will be okay, the Saints are the team that needs to worry. Losing to the Boys was hard, but they to the Bucs and Carolina that is two subpar teams Saints need to worry is all I'm saying

I'm so fucking glad this miserable 2009-10 BEARS season is over. :thefinger

That makes two of us. The fact the Bears need to get a lot of crap straitened out over the off season and they probably won't be able to fix all their problems makes me worry though.

As far as the Welker injury and what it does to the Patriots, there is two schools of though on it. One is that Welker is one of the very best receivers in the league, is a rare talent, and the Patriots are screwed without him. Another thought is that Welker is just a souped up system receiver benefiting from the "Moss effect" and from Brady throwing to him, and there are a lot of people around the NFL and maybe even some on the Patriots already that can pretty much give them 90% of Welker he did. It will be interesting to see how it works out, although it's almost impossible to get an accurate reading of the situation in a couple of games, if they even make it past the first one.

This. He started for a reason. The Pats are finished. I bet they get blown out by the Ravens.

I'm pulling for a San Diego New Orleans super bowl.....that would be awesome to watch :nanner:

I agree with Natche on this one

With all the injuries in the final Sunday involving playoff teams, I wonder if all the arm-chairs out there will revise their position Caldwell's decision to keep some of the Colts from playing?

Having said that, "you playyy to win the game!!" and I think those who pay to see games where coaches choose not to play key players ought to get some concession.

After all, the exhibition season is over.

If the Raiders don't get rid of JaMarcus Russell this offseason then they might as well write off another season next year. Instead of attending a team meeting the guy goes to Las Vegas instead. What a teammate.

The guy is a giant tool who really doesn't seem to have any interest in playing football and is a perfect example of why you need to cap how much money a newly drafted player can get. Coming out of college you haven't done shit in the NFL so you have no right to claim the big money contract. Sad thing is Al Davis will keep him around just because dude can throw 80 yards from his knees. It's hard to be a Raiders fan. :helpme:

It's official: Mike Shanahan inks a five-year head coaching deal with the Redskins.

Really!? I haven't watched ESPN all day today. Redskins will still suck though.

I bet on the Superbowl and other sports championships every year and I HONESTLY have never been wrong (even picked the Giants to beat Patriots). Granted I placed my bet after the two teams were already chosen for the game. But if I bet who would make it there as an unbiased fan(my team is not in playoffs) I would bet the Packers vs. Chargers. Chargers win.

i wonder how the coaching fraternity feels about Mike "Fuck the Salary Cap let's win a Super Bowl" Shanahan negotiating for a coaching position that was filled at the time? He was a very good coach when he had John Elway. He was a great coach with Elway and Terrell Davis.

Yippee-ki-yay, motherfucker!
I wonder how the Chiefs' offense will shape out to be, now that Charlie Weis is the new offensive coordinator.

My dad was a cowboys fan and for a brief period of time, when I was in high school and living in Italy (dad was AirForce) I had a Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader as a pen pal.

But after working in a bar for four years and dealing with Cowboys fans, I can honestly say I can't find any reason to root for the Cowboys.
