NFL '09/'10 Season Thread

^^more than that. check your local listings. I'm in a "no franchise" state and I can see hockey at least 4 nights a week.
or get the package. It is worth it. You get to know hockey, every other sport looks like a bunch of middle school girls trying to ass-pat each other to death after they make a word in a spelling bee.

but that's just my $0.02

Its funny how there are teams like Cleveland and Detroit and Goddell is talking about making the season 18 games.

can the Colts go undefeated this season?

Sweeet Jesus, I hope so! They've got to learn to play a full 60 minutes though. It's exciting to come back at the end, but it'd be great to not have to mount a comeback every week. Ideally, they'd take on the New Orleans Saints in the Super Bowl. That would be a tough game for me. My Colts against former Boilermaker legend Drew Brees. I wouldn't know who to root for. Oh well, that's a while off anyway.

^^
Agreed on all points:
1. don't make it a late comeback. just work from minute 1.
2. that would be a great superbowl matchup. it is likely to happen, i'd say.
3. i hate the boilermakers. I know that makes you hate me, but I like the Irish. We'll have to wrestle about this, I think.

There wouldn't be any wrestling. I would kill you. Seriously. If you're an Irish fan, I'd have no problem with stabbing you in the throat and leaving you for dead. Such is my disdain for anything related to Notre Dame. If Charlie Weis had a heart attack in front of me, I'd probably spit on him before watching him die a slow, painful death. :D

It must be tough to be an Irish fan these days. The football program is in the garbage and the basketball team is only the third best in the state behind my Boilers and Butler.

All in jest, Dirk. I hate ND, but I can respect their tradition despite how much I despise it. :hatsoff:

go ahead, respect the tradition.

we all want to kill the coaches and players and athletic directors. nothing good is happening at notre dame in sports except hockey (damn RIGHT!) and golf. do those sound like high profile sports to you?

No, it is the sports in which we suck that we have to focus.

sigh. go ahead. kick the irish fan. i'm down already. :(

p.s. I don't hate boilermakers. when they're not playing notre dame i'm routing for them. :)

Almost had a heart attack. Thank God he missed that FG. OT here we go

At least I was confident that we were not going to win last night. I would have liked to see Bruce to use a bit more play action and have dixon roll out more, both our TD's came from that. But the bottom line is that Dixon gave the supposed best D in the game the lead late in the 4th and they once again blew it. You can see how much Troy means to the D, they are completly different without him in the up.

I'd sure like New Orleans to lose tonight, but it looks like the "mighty" Patriots are going to come up short.

Dammit. I had to work all week to psych myself up to hope the Patriots win. I even took the Brady-face diapers off my kids...

14-2? I don't see anyone on the Saints' remaining schedule who can stay within 2 TDs of this team. The Saints beat the Patriots into submission. I have to agree with the ESPN crew right now. It looked like the Patriots were plain angry at themselves. I think the Saints pretty much turned the lights out on the Pats' season.

I don't know when they want to the Cowboys can play with anyone but you know how that goes it is the Cowboys I say 14-2 because they will rest some players down the strech. The Colts will do the same i think and will finish with the same record maybe even 15-1:dunno:

The Saints are hands down the best team in football. An undefeated regular season and a probable deep playoff run is inevitable. No NFC team has a chance against them. A Cardinals clicking on all cylinders and the Vikes with Brett Favre who will be playing for the next 30 years as a zombie, are their only threat. As for the other undefeated team, they will stumble at some point. The injuries will catch up to the Colts and Peyton cannot do it all himself. I see another early playoff exit for Manning and his Colts. The Saints are marching right to a Super Bowl.
