My thoughts on God

If there is a God, I really don't know.

The only thing I know, is my experince from 18 years ago (sorry if it's too personal, they are just my thoughts):

When I was almost 20 years old, it was a cloudy day in November.
I was a fanatic at sport, almost practiced a lot of sports you see on TV.

Well, because of the weather wasn't that great, my father decided to go cycling.
"Come on son, join me."
"Nah, cycling season is over and it's going to rain in a few hours!"

He was a bit dissapointed, that was probably the reason I reconcidered my decission and joind him.
He was happy.

During our trip, we made a tour of 60 km's.....40 miles, I guess.
Almost home, I decided to speed up a bit. My father couldn't stay with me ( I was going too fast) and I was not paying attention enough at the traffic.
A car hit me, the driver of the pick up truck was driven too fast and I wasn't watching good enough and I got to the hospital, bleeding everywhere and almost dead for the next 48 hrs. It must be scaring for my parents and sister, I was totally "out" and couldn't remember a thing.

Well, the result were that I was still alive, partly paralized and during the revalidation getting pretty well.
I couldn't remeber a thing and when I asked the medocal people HOW it was possible that I was still alive,. the couldn't give me the proper answer.

For me, there are a few explanations:
1. I was in a really good shape and I was young of age;
2. I had this "drive" to survive, but I wasn't there.

For me, it means that someone was watching me and didn't want to accept that I was going to dy.

I truly believe there is somone or something that is watching over peopele who really needed it at a particular moment in their life.
Call it a "God" or call it something else, if you believe in it and you doesn't hurt or disrespect others with that thought, it's okay.

"Stay strong and live happy and healthy!"

Regards,
Eric

why didn't God prevent the accident in the first place if he's watching over you? does everybody in a car crash die if God doesn't look out for them?

I had an automobile related incident myself once: Long story short, my mom swerved to miss a woman drving a tractor that turned in our lane without warning and went off road and the car flipped. I was thrown out of my seatbelt and my head came within 3 inches of going through broken glass and hard ground..it was in October. Something saved my life, but that something also took my mom from me exactly 8 years ago today. At some point in my life I would say it was God, but I'm not as blind as those religious nuts. Yes there is a higher power, but not God as in the Bible.

ha ha ha.. hilarious post Milton. Yea, they want to say the devil is the cause for all the evil in this world. Such bullshit! Who the fuck created the devil then? True assholes must believe shit like that. The thing about God turning his back on us, maybe he doesn't want to inervene with us (if there is a god). I truly believe in a God but in no way believe we can interact with any form of a God. Nor do I believe in a devil. Such a ridiculous thing to believe in. And if you don't believe in Jesus Christ as the savior then you will be damned to hell. That includes you jews.

Now how exactly could we prove that their is a god one day? I don't think we ever could?

not currently, but maybe one day. but we can never prove it doesn't exist, ever. that's the point. one you could at least potentially prove, the other it is impossible to prove.

So, if archaeologists discovered an ancient scripture that translated to something along the lines of...

"The Bible is a work of fiction. Jesus was a real person, but he was not the Son of God. He was just a regular person who was viewed as being a prophet. Even Jesus himself has acknowledged that he is just a man and nothing more. The Apostles are all fake and were nothing more than an idea that was conjured up by Jesus to help sell the story to the world. The stories found within the Bible are all fiction. God is just a character that Jesus made up."

...then there was plenty of documented evidence that supported the claim and the world's most brilliant historians all agreed that everything was legit, are you saying that wouldn't be proof enough that God doesn't exist?

Way to not give credit to the team of medical experts that saved your life. These guys have been working on me for the past 48 hours, but God didn't want me to die that day. Pft.

We might as well get rid of hospitals then, since God determines who lives and dies.

i don't know. maybe if all 6.5 billion of us were magically whisked away to heaven and returned after getting a lap dance from the virgin mary. could be an alien hoax, but if you rule that out then it would be "god" in some sense of the word, but maybe not The Supreme Being God. makes your head hurt, huh?:1orglaugh

And here, my friends, we have the foundation of religion. Denial of reality, acceptance of fantasy.

Chef? What did he get banned? Man, for this thread?

so why does God let little kids die from cancer but save your life? does God like you better?

But you know what we can prove is false. The bible. If that was true which it isn't there would be artifacts. There isn't even proof of a "Jesus" Yet millions of people believe they can talk to him.

It's like if you added fairy tales to the bible stories they would still believe them. It's funny you can come up to a religious christian nut and ask them if they believe in Santa Claus and they will tell you no, thats impossible right one man delivering billions of kids presents in one night. Now one guy listening to millions of people murmur to him at the same time I get.

Yes, name one prayer answered. Name one miracle proved. God appeared all the time in the babble, where is he now? Why is he a mystery? Wouldn't his appearance make us believers?
A heavenly experience would be fucking Hot Wife Rio.

You could say the same exact thing about people who believe in God. Even if you showed them rock solid evidence that God didn't exist, they would still say you were wrong.

That is the exact reason why religious authorities don't have answers; they only have cliches.

"Pastor, can you prove that God exists?"

"You just have to have faith."
"If you believe...then God exists."
"Just read the Bible and you'll find your answer."

:rubbel:

Like the dinosaurs?

Because He's supposedly a loving and forgiving God. Plus, He apparently made all of us, so if we don't believe in Him, then it's His fault.

Right again Chef chi! Might as well pray to your cock if your a man and pray to your pussy if your a woman. You'll get more of a response as these are the real gods!

God is my intelligent designer. He made me with a dodgy appendix, painful teeth shedding and growing, and enough sperm to impregnate China on a daily basis. This excess sperm is always looking for a way to get out, but God's rule is that this is sinful.

God has created me with original sin, for which I can be punished for all eternity. His intelligent design also means that when I stand, my hand falls near my groin, and when I lie down my hand STILL falls near my groin. And yet I must never touch myself, despite the fact that the sperm keeps multiplying.

I also get colds, which are very annoying, thrice a year.

God chose NOT to include the Aztecs or the Incas in his books. That was God's choice.

God is omnipotent, omniscient and omnipresent, but I have never seen him. Given the omni-trio, it is therefore God's choice, plan and will for me to write the four words: God does not exist. Though this will confuse people we MUST accept that it is God's will.

It is also God's will that his vicar on Earth - the Pope - informs his flock that condoms should not be used, even though this will inevitably result in more deaths (through AIDS and other STDs) than all the terrorism on the planet that ever was. Many of the victims will be children. This is God's will.

You must never ask the following question: "If God created all things, who or what made God?"

Miracles must be accepted as unquestionable truth. When a plane lands in the Hudson River and everyone survives, it is a miracle. That it might have been God's will - and God is omnipotent, omniscient, and omnipresent - to cause the plane to crash in the first place must not be questioned. Planes that crash with no survivors are disasters, and it is God's choice as to whether the victims will be saved (in this world or the next).

It was God's will that his form in human flesh, Jesus, cured a blind man of his terrible affliction. It was not God's choice that his Son on Earth should cure blindness in all humanity. You mustn't question this.

God created Satan, who is a constant menace to people and can never be rid of.

Being the creator of all things, God also created "race," war, disease, disability, famine, drought, fire, volcanic eruptions, Jews, Nazis, weapons, Islamism, terror, and, worst of all religion. Religion has divided people and facilitated more crimes than any other human condition. This is God's will.

God created man first and woman second. The major power-brokers and achievers among woman-kind have been oppressed since the prevalence of monotheism. Again, that is the will of God, as is the death of any woman in childbirth.

If any of the above has made you wonder the slightest bit about God's existence, remember this: God even created fossils to test your faith. He tests your faith even though he already knows your destiny.

God is man-made, and that is man's will, not woman's will, and certainly not God's will.
