Michael Moore

and dear, domshooter...we certainly don't want to ban you because of your political views. that's what freedom of speech is all about, yo? but you sound like a bright guy, so maybe you'd consider opening your mind a bit to a counter point of view? i grew up around firearms with an ex-military dad - way republican. into my late teens I thought I was repbulican too, but then I realized that these jokers aren't on our side by a long shot. just close your eyes for a second, imagine every wealthy, pig-fuck-prick-boss you've ever had standing in a room. now open your eyes and you're looking at the Republican National Convention. these are the dickheads who are only out to make rich richer and shit on the rest of us. right now, they're more than happy to murder as many American soldiers as they can just to pad their pockets. Yeah, it's their job (soldiers, that is) to risk their lives - but only if the US in under threat. saddam was a joke! no weapons of mass destruction, and when we invaded, he wasn't even a threat to Iran or Jordan - let alone the US. It would be like saying Denmark was a threat to the US. And as silly as that may sound, Denmark's military is much more effective and well equipt than Saddam's ever was.

per Nightfly: I'm James Willing and I approve this message.

And amen to you, Jameswilling.

A good progressive would NEVER ban domshooter. It's the lively dialog of divergent opinions that we all must fight for.

It's what the men in women in Iraq are dying for... And it's the job of all of us who aren't in harm's way to find the ideas and words that bring peace.

War is failed diplomacy/statesmanship, pure and simple.

Listen to everyone, question everyone, and make up your own mind!

Thomas Jefferson would approve! So would Ben Franklin (who, no doubt, would have loved Freeones, the old perv!)

dude! we should run for the oval office! somehow I feel neither of us would pass the background check...

maybe it's about time we have candidates that don't even try to be perfect ;)

Anyone remember the Chris Rock skit on Bowling for Columbine?

That was the funniest shit I have ever heard him say. And it is so true.

Sell bullets for $5000 a piece.

"I'd shoot you if I could afford it."

"Damn... You KNOW he must of done something wrong."

LMAO

Guns don't kill people... People kill people. Guns just make it easier and more deadly to those around the target.

Remember folks, there are 2 sides to every story. Its clear Moore's only intention is to show one side. Ambush journalisim can make anyone look stupid, and presenting only half the facts/details can make anyone look bad.

I am looking forward to seeing Bowling For Columbine, Fahrenheit 911 and Michael Moore Hates America

They could be doing the same thing they are claiming Moore has done.

Looks like another angry republican website to me.

No offense.

I always think it's interesting when Republicans accuse MM of trying to help the Democrats. If you've seen any of his movies you'll see he doesn't like the Democrats either. If I'm not mistaken, MM supported Ralph Nader in the last presidential election, and if you remember, most Democrats blame Nader for helping Bush win, so the arguement that MM is trying to help the Dems doesn't hold hold much water.

If theres one thing i hate more than British politics it's American politics, British politics = social ellitism where the fat cats alway think of their fat pay cheques and second homes over public services, American politics - Fixed votes, Arnold Schwarzenegger as a govener (WTF), and it is my opinion that democracy does'nt work but it's the only system we can put into place.

Micheal Moore is alright he's just trying to discover the undertones and many flaws of politics in America even though he reminds me of a red neck. Just felt i'd express my opinion did'nt want to offened any politics majors but you've got to agree that democracy can be a bit of a joke, no i'm not a communist.

Democracy is full of flaws, but I like to think that it's a work in progress, ;) and the daily struggle to make it work is the most worthy cause of all. However, when it comes to describing democracy aptly I defer to the person I enjoy quoting more than any other:

It has been said that democracy is the worst form of government except all the others that have been tried.

Sir Winston Churchill

BTW, anyone who believes MM is promoting the Democratic Party should see the music video for "Testify," by Rage Against the Machine. It was directed by MM (he even makes a cameo appearance in it), and I think it very accurately shows what he thinks of both political parties.

dude, you basically just decribed american politics at the moment right there too.

oh yeah, as foxycougar said, don't make the mistake of thinking that the west coast represents what america is.

I can't really harp on this enough. Who cares what side MM is on? Fact is: he's out to promote Democracy, justice, and peace, and call out hypocritical politicians for what they are. So what's the freaking problem?

Oh, and now for a little shamless self-promotion. If you haven't, jump on over to jelenajensen.com and sign up for our email list. I'm in the process of building out the member's section that will launch late summer. so don't miss out! It's gonna be bigger then Fahrenheit 9/11 - or at least JJ's breasts will be...

The point was, Moore has done some creative editting and research to make his films. So don't think everything he is saying is 100% true. Look at it this way, you and another guy are in line for a promotion at work. He goes around telling people how horrible you are, and cites examples that, as mentioned before, aren't 100% correct and leave out a number of key issues. How would you feel? angry, upset?

Moore has given the impression to people, that everything in his movies are factual and correct, yet, the evidence is out there to prove otherwise.

But your believing everything that those sites say... but they are clearly just angry at the message he is bringing. (And yes I did read the examples.)

The bank teller saying it was rehearsed?

Have you ever gone through a security check? Its boring and useless... The sniper in Washington could of passed a security check for a weapon.

Its not that he creatively edited it out... Its that it was a boring point in the movie. She mentioned a security check. It just wasn't shone to keep the film going. (If in fact anything on there is even true at all. You don't rehearse for a Documentary film.)
