Farah Fawcett and then Michael Jackson - and what a talent: Rest in Peace both :angels:

R.I.P. Dear Michael Jackson!! I Love you very much, from the bottom of my heart...
You always in my heart ... and you Gone Too Soon...:Cry::Cry:

Yes, he was a weirdo, but he also made huge contributions to 80's music. Justin Timberland and the Backdoor Boys wouldn't be there if MJ hadn't blazed the trail for them. I can't say that I was fond of him, but he was a human being and I think he deserves respect after his death.

RIP Michael

Absolutely. For goodness sake, he was not a monster of any sorts. Let's give the man the respect he deserves. Musically - in many ways - a Genius. :angels:

Can someone explain to me why are they immortalizing this guy?

Yea, some of his music was ok, but its amazing how fast they forget that this guy turned into a major freak and was a pedophile. So, since when is a pedophile being immortalized?

And I love about how the media is having a field day with this, just remember its nothing more than a distraction about what is really going on in the world.

Just sickens me how people immortalize celebrities and etc etc etc

:thefinger

So are we only supposed to have positve opinions about everybody the point of an opinion is that its just that an OPINION. It serves no purpose other than to tell others what you think. You Might not like others but you cant tell them they are wrong because its an opinion if you want people to keep opinions to them selves then pay people to walk around and kiss your ass all day like Kanye West does to give yourself an false sense of confidence that everybody agrees with you.

There is a saying: Opinions are like assholes. Meaning (for you that dont get it) They stink

You must not understand English kid, didnt I say that I respect one's thoughts even if they're negative because I'm not one to tell people what to think? aka Everyone is entitled to their opinion in my book and I respect it at the same time. Go back to huggin' your pillow kid cause you're just starting trouble.

The man had a gift. The power to touch and unite people through his music.
Such a gift is rare and worth celebrating.

Will any band or artist ever reach that level of stardom? I highly doubt it.

Quoting Al Sharpton? Come on, I thought this forum was better than that. An endorsement from reverend Al is like....well, letting your kids have a sleep over at Neverland Ranch. Some one is going to get it in the end.

As far as his legacy is concerned, look to Fatty Arbuckle. The man was a comedy pioneer and allegations of rape and murder ruined his career. He was tried three times on the rape and manslaughter charges and acquitted but the rumors led to a blacklisting which wasn't lifted until a few years before his death. Today if anyone remembers him at all it isn't because of the joy he could bring to audiences but the rumors and innuendo that tarnished his career.

So yeah, I think the controversies surrounding him will affect people and impact on his legacy like a frozen turd from a 777's lavatory hitting a house.

June needs to take a hike really fast. In my state if we were to get 2 more days of rain then it will go down as the "2nd June in history with the most days of rain". There's still 5 days left in the month. Very dark month in all aspects.

Unbelievable. The music of my childhood right there, so sad to hear this happen.

1 down ... 6 to go ...

The difference is, Fatty was innocent.
