I new Micheal & he touched me in a way only a catholic priest would understand!!!

The coroner has yet to determine the cause of death. He's not sure whether to blame it on the sunshine, blame it on the moonlight, blame it on the good times or blame it on the boogie.

:hatsoff:

I hereby resign my post as Freeones resident joker..

Farah Fawcett went to heaven and god granted her one wish and she wished for all the worlds children to be safe.......................so he killed Micheal Jackson

MJ probably od'd anyways, even more reason for me not to care. Besides, his death is hardly a surprise, given that the embalming process started 20 years ago.

^If only we knew for sure he was a pedophile :dunno: The most damaging evidence against him was testimony/Public Relations Oppty of LaToya Jackson and his settlement of a civil suit.

I think most people think he was a fucked up person for sure...but there's plenty of blame to go around for creating the media monster he became....

Justin Timberland and the Backdoor Boys wouldn't be there if MJ hadn't blazed the trail for them.

You say that as if it's a good thing.

I don't get overhyping of Jackson's musical legacy. He has as about as much legitimacy being one of music's greatest performers ever as Britney Spears does. There was a couple good songs, he made hundreds of millions of dollars, he benefited much from manufactured hype, was more about video or stage presence than being excellent musically, especially in his adult years, was a part of some fads, and went mentally unstable. In fact they have a lot in common. Neither of them I would put in even the top 100 best music performers of all time.

He sang two or three popular songs in the early 80's, was a part of the Jackson Five, and used some PR and hype mechanisms to cash in big quickly. Considering the number of one hit wonders in the music world that's not exactly bad, but it's nowhere near legendary. It could be argued that some of the things he did bring about, like people trying to artificially create overnight sensations to have an impact similar to what he had for a few years and what he did for music videos and what they did to have had a negative impact on music is part of what has made music go downhill since the 60s and 70s. People tried focusing too much on that and stage stuff and not on good music. The areas where he actually did have influence or bring about some things is not a positive for him in my opinion.

Whats the difference between Niel Armstrong and Micheal Jackson?...

...Niel Armstrong walked on the moon and Micheal Jackson molested little boys.

While I agree the current contemporary landscape is filled with losers like Chris Brown and Usher and Justin Timberlake who are nothing but cheap, "poor man's" Michael Jacksons...I think you're being very harsh in your assessment, DRock.

He created a signature dance style, he collaborated with Quincy Jones, he basically built MTV single-handedly back when MTV had credibility.

I agree that, vocally, he was pretty good, but the entire package elevates him to the All Time Mount Rushmore of American Music. I think I might start that idea as a thread...

If you are referring to the moonwalk you are wrong. It was invented in the 50s
