wow... that was quite the season premiere.
it is true that i have stayed away from lost for too long. last year i re-watched season 1 on dvd just before season 2 started. i did not do that this year and i am very perplexed by the season premiere.
but i guess thats what they try to do with th3e opener. leave questions that can be answered. i cant wait to see what happens when hurley gets back to camp, what will sayid do? he still sailing with sun and jin. charlie, locke, eko, it will surely be a great season!

I can't believe that they broke Jack so easily. I thought he was more iron clad then that. Still their little community is very interesting.
We don't get the new season over here in England for a while yet, 2007 I think

Did anyoneone notice that when Jack was in his car, across from the school yard where he was spying on his wife that Moonlight Senata was playing on the radio? The same song that was playing when Sayid and Hurley were listening to when they were sitting on the beach listenning to the short wave radio that Hurley brought Sayid to supe up?
Also, when Jack first looks out the window of his car into the schoolyard, for just a brief moment there is a shot of a woman's back. The woman has a long blond ponytail, and about the same build as Juliette. I wonder if it was her. I don't think there's anyway to tell for sure.
Also, in the scene where Jack is in the hospital room with the nurse, and the patient in the bed, right before he see's his dad laughing on his phone, you get just a quick shot of the patient in the bed. The guy has flowing gray hair just like Tom/Zeek, the guy with the fake beard from the Other's group. I don't have the episode on tape though, so I can't go back and check myself on any of that.

After seeing the begining episode of the season premiere, I have a new theory on what is going on.
The Others were seen living in some corny loooking community. Jack, and Sawyer were kept in cages that were made for animals. It is known that DHARMA did experiments on animals.
It's is possible that the Others are animals that were purposely evolved to human form, the incident was they took over the island or something.
for whatever reason, they cannot reproduce and need children. It might also explain why they take samples of blood from people and may be involved in some type of cloning.
The community they live in is their way of living a "human" life to the best they know how, now that they are in control, they are doing what DHARMA had done to them. If you noticed, the Others are about the same age, in their 30's, 40's....which fits in the timeline of the early 80's when the films were produced.
It might be possible that Lost is somewhat a continuation of the story "The island of Dr. Moreau".
