I think people worry too much about rep.
Just be honest and say what you think - if people like it, you get good rep, if they don't you get bad rep, if it was boring they just ignore you.
Oh, and if they think it was irrelevant they give you a boring lecture.

Nothing is perfect, whatever they choose to do with the reps systems, people will always complain, that's just human nature...
I may be wrong about this but it would appear that regardless of rep over 100+ still only equates to one full Rep point....
I.e. If one was to award another Rep and the Awarder has 204 Rep points, the receiver on the Rep will only climb by one.... for instance, 55 to 56.
We as the first of what will be thousand members to come are going through a period of adjustment because it took so long for us to reach the stage of awarding a full point as apposed to partial points....
Give it time and you will see the system iron itself out.:2 cents:

I just miss the old days, when I would get good and bad rep. I know some of my posts are not liked by all, and I liked that real feedback. The rep system IMO was put in place to keep spam and flaming off the board, alot of bickering would not be on the board if people just used good/bad rep. I suppose people are worried by wars (I am) but used in moderation bad rep lowers rep and balances it out. Maybe were all awesome, but I would like to see the rep used as honest criticism. Plus using bad rep has all the rules for misuse built in. I'm just saying I never felt bad about my bad rep, it was just others opinions. I'm not greedy or vain, I don't need a number to define me.

I give and take rep as I see it merited. I have no reluctance in giving neg rep for what I feel to be offensive, worthless, disruptive, redundant, or pointless posts. I also give it positively when I feel it's deserved or earned. Isn't that what it's for, after all? Every day is not "rep Christmas" where you just hand it out to those people you like - rep is like a paycheck; you either earn it or you get docked for fucking around and not contributing to the bottom line. :2 cents:

When you rep'd him, it added your 180 rep points to his and raised his total points to 330 which would show as 3 full rep points (looking like a jump of two).
