Fair enough, but I'm not asking you to make me believe in God, as I have already mentioned I am querying fear based faith. That is what it sounds like to me when someone says they don't believe in god & the response is that they will burn in hell. It suggests that your believe in god is based on fear, afraid that if you don't believe in him you will go to hell. So enjoy what little time you have on this planet living under the shroud of supernatural fear. . .& have fun.I won't make you believe in God and you won't make me not so I am having some fun. You silly Englishman.
What you are describing sounds more like you simply gave up hope and fell back on the safety net that is religion. It is a great way to deny the harshness of reality.
Everything is explained?!?In a way, atheism is also a safety net because everything is explained, everything is logical and no mysteries exist. That is a problem I have with some atheists is that they believe we are at the pinnacle of all science and knowledge. Did you know that even the Big bang theory is not universally accepted and many leading scientists have come up with alternate theories? We do not know everything. And there are things we will never know for sure.
God is one of those things, I am not saying he definitely is real, but there is always the possibility that he is.
Everything is explained?!?
According to who?!?
We are at the pinnacle of all science & knowledge?!?
Again, according to who?!?
Of course there are varying theories regards the big band & alternatives. Knowledge & scientific discoveries are always advancing & do not stand still. But its a huge leap to therefore suppose that an invisible creature invented it all!
Well I believe "there is nothing after death", that "humans evolved from apes" & "there is no god". But I don't see how those "typical answers" correlate with the belief that everything is explained?Like I said, some atheists believe that everything is explained. The ones with typical answers like "There is nothing after death" or "Humans evolved from apes" "There is no God" "There is no ET life in the entire universe" etc.
But how do you know there is nothing after death? Has anyone actually come back from the dead and said "sorry guys, there is just a big nothingness"
And while evolution seems like a legit theory, there are still many holes in human evolution just as there are many holes in the bible. Its incomplete. And what absolute proof is there that God doesn't exist?
Oh, and

Really? Please elaborate. & how am I ranting? There is as much proof that God does not exist as there is homo-sapiens evolved from apes. But no one wants to hear this Porny. It's a lost fuckin cause. They see what they want to see, hear what they want to hear, and then rant about it.
Er, how could someone come back from the dead & say "sorry guys, there is just a big nothingness". How can a biological creature exist when all its functions necessary for keeping it alive cease? The onus is on those of a religious faith to prove that life after death exists, as yet this has not happened. & you cannot compare a scientific theory like evolution to the bible, the bible has no measurable data within its pages. Show me proof for gods existence please. There isn't any.
It appears you do not believe any scientifically researched theory? Or is it only the ones that relate to religion?
Science is not attempting to disprove god, but explain the world by researching the physical nature of things, by testing hypotheses against this measurable data. It relies on evidence, as a consequence it may debunk much religious theory as there is no evidence for it. That is fine if you are religious because faith, by its very nature, does not need evidence that would be acceptable to the scientific world. But it wasn't faith that invented vaccines, it wasn't faith that invented aeroplanes, it wasn't faith that invented the internet. It was science.
True there are many scientists that have a religious faith, I think it was Stephen Hawking who said that once the elusive "theory of everything" is discovered we will be able to see the "mind of god".A higher power is my spirituality. Science is my religion. They are not exclusive, they can coexist.
Just like the invisible dragon in my shed. . .Science is a multipurpose tool. I am not against all scientific discoveries like medical breakthroughs or technological advances. I am only pointing out the limits of science when it comes to seeking out the truth concerning God's existence. It can't prove God isn't real, and no religion can prove he is real, so therefore its a stalemate. But this still leaves room for the possibility he is real.
Sorry I forgot to mention, the invisible dragon in my shed told me he invented the universe. . .Yes but the difference is that the invisible dragon in your shed didn't create the universe. You can't compare the significance of the two.
