I have never heard of the "Church of Atheism".. and if someone started one I believe most Atheists would not go. (This is not to say that all atheists are smart mind you, many are stupid, just as many religious people are very intelligent.)
As for doing their best to force others to convert to their religion... ever heard of the Crusades? How about the Inquisition? How about Jihad?
Countless lives have been taken or enslaved in the name of religion. None have been taken in the name of atheism.
Yes Christianity was at fault for many crimes, but it reformed. Islam still travels by the "convert by the sword" mentality. It is the most repressive institution in the world.
Atheism is a religion/cult/belief without a doubt. It's followers are just as adamant as many evangelical Christians or Muslims.
A few radicals maybe, but the majority are a very peaceful people. To say they are all the same is pretty ignorant, like saying all Americans are the same or all Europeans are the same.
Well the moderates have done a piss poor job at winning the hearts and minds of non muslims in addition to not taking serious action against their radical brethren.
