dungeons and dragons (D&D) anyone?

Oh, that 'mistake' might have been the subconscious sneak playing a trump card in situations like that.

If you move away from people sending deadly flying objects your way, going on a non-ballistic flight route, you would prefer a large, massive object (Or, in this case, subject) being in between both parties, acting as a shielding.

It worked very well, and, well, there will always be some slack :1orglaugh

It is one more situation that proves that old saying of you don't need to be faster than your enemy, just faster than the guy next you. :1orglaugh

I was talking about general vampire genre stuff. It came to me how much it would suck for a women or really anybody that couldn't see themselves in the mirror. :D

4,000 year old vampire? I don't think I would even go near one for the same reason I wouldn't go near Lich, weird abomination, or dragon that was millennia old. The person is probably much more powerful than you and at that point might be one of the scariest things on the planet. There would be a reason they lived that long, especially in a group with social orders like a lot of vampires.

Although it's interesting. I'm not that familiar with the game in great detail, but in most setting vampires don't go that far back. Now that I think about it there would only be a handful of well known civilizations one would be from if you were around 4,000 years ago, and I don't even know if all of them had written languages yet. I guess the person could also always be from some more unorganized place because there were people everywhere by that point. You always hear about old vampires that originated in Europe in fiction, but it would be interesting to have one that came from ancient Egypt, Mesopotamia, India, or one of the Ancient American Indian empires in Central and South America or some place like that. Usually those places already have their own type of undead fictional traditions though like mummies and such.

The lore of V:tm goes all the way back to the first city, Enoch which predates the flood.

In a nutshell...Cain gets jelous of Abel and kills him. God is pissed and banishes Cain to the Land of Nod. There Cain runs into Lilith who's pissed at God and Adam for casting her out due to refusing to submit to Adam's whims and shares some info with Cain about leaving Nod. Cain does so and runs into some Angels who try to get Cain to repent. He tells the angels where to stick it. They curse him to walk the earth forever with his children, unchanging, always fearing those with true faith and fearing the sun...having to drink blood and ashe, blah blah blah.

Cain goes and creates the first city, Enoch, gets himself a hoe and has some fun. Then comes the flood destroying the city.

So yea, some of those vampires are pretty fucking old. Most are safely tucked away somewhere and playing chess with all the good little vampire pawns but there's a few awake. Those are a modern day vampire's nightmare to meet because it rarely goes well...

Now that's a fucking vampire. These modern Sookie Stackhouse-Twilight bullshit Bieber vampires make my balls ache, and my fingers itch for a nice firm stake.

Alrighty...so I'll be running Vampire Darkages via Fantasy Grounds. I have a player already so I can take 2-3 more people without it become a long drawn out mess. ;-)

I don't know if I mentioned this before, but whenever I think of "Fantasy Grounds" the first thing that comes to mind is coffee. :1orglaugh

You have to admit it does sounds like it could be some lesser known coffee brand.

Tomorrow I'm going to have to decide which book I'm going to buy I was talking about earlier. (Although one of them seems to be backordered so maybe it will make my choice easier.)

I got the Mutant & Masterminds Hero's Handbook from Green Ronin. It's basically the third edition of the game. It's a superhero RPG. I was going to get Pathfinder's Ultimate Magic from Paizo, but it's on backorder from Amazon because they didn't order enough to meat demand. (yes I shop for RPG books at Amazon , new ones anyhow, but at least in my defense there isn't a FLGS nearby I can go to. The last one went away years ago and I didn't even like it considering half the store was also a pet shop and everything bought from there stunk like dank animals. Not to mention the cost difference is a big deal to me as short of cash as I often am.)

The good news is that this might allow me to get both now. I just have to save some money from somewhere. I guess I can always go without some food to make up the difference. :1orglaugh

I love pirates and you would think a pirate game would be awesome. But so far of the 3 I've played, one has not been a disaster. And to be fair in that one I am the only pirate in the gang. The rest is filled with generic amnesic characters.

And they get bitchy I get all the best scenes.

im gonna have to look that one up too. pirates are cool. well, at least they were until pirates of the caribbean came out.
