I am fully vaccinated but found this CDC report to be rather chilling.

74% of cases occurred in fully vaccinated persons (those who had completed a 2-dose course of mRNA vaccine [Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna] or had received a single dose of Janssen [Johnson & Johnson]

Among five COVID-19 patients who were hospitalized, four were fully vaccinated;

My wife is an ICU nurse. I asked her if she hears many people say, "I wish I just got the vaccine." She has but a mainly from their families. She sees stuff that would send me to the looney bin but stays cool as a cucumber at work and home. I don't know how she does it. I'm very proud of her though.

I couldn't do it either. The last time I visited an ER I almost fainted. It takes a special person to do it.

The Washington Post lists the document as an internal CDC document.

On a personal note I am pro vaccine, I also think our government and health officials will lie to us "for our own good"

It became a hard concept when the novel coronavirus turned into a political football. Instead of being about public health, it is about fealty to (or against) a political figure. Trump was more worried about his political fate than public health. Anti-Trump figures were concerned about scoring political points against Trump. That said, scoring points against Trump did help public health.

Two great sources of context: Michael Lewis's The Premonition (about the reaction to the current pandemic) and John Barry's The Great Influenza (about the 1918 influenza pandemic). Barry's book is a cautionary tale about where we may be heading. The was an initial outbreak which was bad, but 'not so bad'. After the virus adapted, the second wave was lethal.

I would have thought Herman Cain's final tweets & death would have been enough to prove the point. And that happened pretty early on in the pandemic - literally just a year ago.
