And that's exactly how it should be. All the efficacy tests where done using the same vaccine for both doses. We have the data on that and people can be confident when getting their 2nd jab. There's no similar wide-scale testing for mixing. If there was a shortage of your vaccine type, and you're willing to wait, that should be an option, instead of the government rushing to just get that 2nd jab into you, whatever it might be.

It's hard to comprehend that people still don't understand that a vaccine is not a cure or antidote. It's protection, not a remedy. I sometimes wonder if that's why they don't get vaccinated, thinking that they can just miraculously cure themselves if they get infected.

A friend in Japan just got a notification in the mail that vaccinations for his area are put on hold due to a vaccine shortage.
Ironic that this is the same country that thought the Olympics were "safe".
Still, it goes to show that even w/o ant-vaxxers, we still have other reasons for low vaccination rates and consequently, more "waves".

My wife is an ICU nurse. I asked her if she hears many people say, "I wish I just got the vaccine." She has but a mainly from their families. She sees stuff that would send me to the looney bin but stays cool as a cucumber at work and home. I don't know how she does it. I'm very proud of her though.
